Fantasy - July 14, 2012

I know that it was the first time for SA53, not sure about Burymom, but I thought I'd share a little bit about DS experience with the Edge. He has been in the Edge 4 times in the classic ships and loved every minute of it. His only experience on the new ships was on the Dream last October and he wasn't all that impressed. We visited it during the open house and it felt too divided up, loud and not very conducive to socializing. Being with and enjoying your peers is important at that age. The Vibe on the new ships is just the opposite. Tremendous environment, much improved vs. the old ships. DS immediate comment was: "boy I will miss the new Vibe next year."

When you go back on another sailing tell your kids that the Vibe/Edge is like the first day in a new school. It can be a little awkward at first but soon you find the right group and then create great memories.

Noahsmom, Glad to hear you made it back safely. Was it you I was stalking??? I thought for sure I would meet you at some point in our aft paradise and was sad we didn't bump into each other. I am worried about your rudeness experience. It was all so lovely on the eastern cruise, it was what impressed my dh enough for that dummy cruise--just how nice everyone was on the cruise. We had extended family traveling with us so had a table to ourselves, but we met the nicest diners at the table next to us and also a lovely family in a different section who visited us every night. It was all so happy everywhere :goodvibes

disneyfanintn, Sorry to hear about Peyton. Glad it was a quick illness for him so that he could enjoy the rest of the trip.

Garak and burymom, My edge dd is very shy so I wasn't surprised she didn't go all the time. She was very excited when Courtney from facebook was there. It was too bad they didn't exchange room info until later in the trip. She did go back for "Ghost Voyagers" which scared the mickey out of her--she still is having bad dreams about it  For my ds, he is a young 15 and felt like most of the kids at the Vibe the first night were much older. Basically, I think he felt intimidated by the older crowd. Because he was not comfortable that first night, he didn't want to go back. He did say he met a nice Noah (I wonder if it was noahsmom noah?).

I did have one other question about the FE. When I went to deliver them, there was nothing outside disneysunflower's door so I didn't leave anything for them since we had not heard from her in awhile. Is this what eveyone else did?

I did not leave my FE gifts on the disneysunflower room since there was no FE and since we had not heard from her. We went up there twice. We did however :) find another FE hanging for a room that was not on our list - maybe deck 8 inside room that we surprised with gifts. Hope they liked Moon Pies, Goo Goos and Jack Daniels (all Tennessee products) otherwise I should have save the Jack Daniels for our Wait Staff we shared with them and they loved it. lol

Peyton did say he thought most of the kids in the Vibe were older than him but that did not stop him from hanging out. He loved the Zombiefied taping and those durn ghost stories I tell you - he is convinced the Tina story is true and it is all because Disney sails through the Bermuda Triagle. :rotfl:

Just thought I would wish all my dismeet buddies a Happy New Year!!! pixiedust: We did a lot of reminiscing about the cruise over Christmas because I made a photo book for everyone (plus I have all your lovely gifts decorating my office and kitchen) and it made me think of the fun I had planning that trip with all of you!!!

Still no plans for a next cruise since I have a Sophomore and the prices seem to have gone up , but I still have not given up on a next time!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful 2013!!!
