Fantasy in the Sky video

Just a little taste of what's going away.....

See, this is what gets me. Why dump the 60th show? All it says that dates it is, "If you were standing here over 60 years ago..." Man, that line can fit for the next decade!!! It just seems so cheap. And with F! gone for 18 months and PtN possibly gone forever, it just seems like slap in the face for everyone who comes in the "off season".

Fantasy in the Sky has been around since the '70's, at least in name. It is definitely a way to ease the budget for a while after 16 months of pulling out all stops with Forever and PTN. The party's over.

Personally, Remember... is my favorite, it is such an incredible salute to the park, the park sound cues really stir up nostalgia in me, especially for rides that are long gone. I loved the technology of Forever, but take or leave the focus on the newer Disney/Pixar IP.

I'm sure Forever was designed to be run shorter if desired in the future, much like they shortened Remember...

Their budget has also been greatly eased by not performing Fantasmic at all. These other losses on top of that are just too much.

I would guess the Fantasmic savings are being counted against Star Wars construction.

The Iger giveth, the Iger taketh away.

I am surprised that both these are getting retired (if even just temporarily), especially they would normally be limited to weekends much of the year anyway. But it does add a fleeting aspect to the 60th. But there was a time when all these shows/parades were seasonal.

I'm sure all of the price increases and increased attendance and the special dining packages helped ease the budget during the 60th celebration. And I feel like if they wanted to keep revenue up, they wouldn't be cutting things like the Frozen pre-show packages and the WoC dessert party. So... now we're left with shorter hours for our fall trips, no RoA activities, no Fantasmic!, 4 minutes of fireworks, etc. I can't feel sorry for the Disney budget at all. :sad2:

Fantasy in the Sky has been around since 1958.

There are many other fireworks and parades out there on YouTube.

I watched a Fantasy in the Sky video today and was shocked at how short it was. I was hoping it would be more in line with Remember... or Wishes - not so much. We really appreciate that Disney fireworks shows are usually over the top and truly spectacular, I just don't know that a 5 minute show is going to do it. I didn't get any "story" or emotion for the clip I watched - and I'm usually either tearing up or sitting there with my jaw dropped for Disney fireworks (maybe it's better in person?)
