Fantasy in the Sky from somewhere outside of MK?

I just read on another thread that there will probably only be 2 nights of FIS show during our stay, neither of those nights is on a day we had planned for the MK. Changing our park days around will really mess up our itinerary. Another concern is that if they are only being shown twice/wk that time of year, the MK will be a mob seen on those days. Here's my question:

Is there places outside of the MK that offer a decent view of Fantasy in the sky? Where and how good is the show compared to actually being in the park?

A couple of possible suggestions.

Try to book a fireworks cruise. The boats leave of of the GF marina (I believe), cruise around bay lake and then park out in front of the MK. From what I have read, you get a very good view.

Stake out a spot on either the GF or Poly beaches. The distance is a little greater, but you should be able to see fine.

Last is to watch them from the observation deck of the Contemporary.

If you feel like combining a dinner with watching I highly recommend 'Ohana's. You can try and book a PS around the times of the fireworks. The windows overlook the castle and when the fireworks begin they pipe in the music......truly very magical!! Try and request a window seat so you can really enjoy the view!!

When I go, it looks like the fireworks will only be Saturday night, along with SpectroMagic. I plan to go to MK just that evening & spend the rest of the day at another park. If you have the UPH, you can do that if it fits your schedule.

Please keep in mind that the resort beaches, pools, benches, sun, moon, sky, water and air are for the sole use of resort guests and those dining at the resort. :jester:

So sorry, it's one of those Monday mornings.

I'd like to second the suggestion of viewing the fireworks from 'Ohana. Although the food was not my favorite, I thought the view was fabulous! We requested window seating but were more in the middle of the restaurant but we had a great view of the fireworks as we ate.

Another suggestion is one we stumbled on quite by accident. We wanted to beat the holiday crowds out of MK one night during Thanksgiving week this past trip and as we waited at the bus stop, the fireworks display started. It wasn't the greatest view but (1) we were not wall to wall people inside the MK (2) the fireworks display while not the best view was still awesome, (3) all we had to do was jump on the next OKW bus and we still beat the hordes of people back to our resort on an uncrowded bus and (4) the view was "free", no park admission required and no feeling guilty that we were taking up space, air, etc. on a beach at a resort where we weren't staying.

Hope this helps you!!!

:jester: :jester: Too funny!:jester: :jester:

I followed a thread a few weeks ago that triggered a debate on this topic. Even though we will no doubt be "soiling" the resort property with our mere presence, I think we'll risk it.

:jester:Thanks for giviing me a chuckle! :jester:
