i have been on 2 Disney Cruises. Fantasy & magic. We are looking at the Nov 24,2018 Cruise I hear deck 2 is the best for motion sickness. But they are only guaranteed state rooms, I was really wanting mid ship. Deck 8 9 and 10 have a mid ship, but I have bad motion sickness. I’ve done very well on deck 2 midship. Just wondering if I should take a chance on getting any room on deck 2 or taking midship deck 8. We are going on the fantasy. What are y’all a thoughts & opnions? This will also be my husband and 4yr DD FIRST cruise.

Which ship is the November 2018 cruise going to be on?

The Fantasy Deck 2 has cabins mainly forward and midship that are Oceanview so I would say you are going to be better off there.

So you think I should pay more and do the ocean View instead of inside state room

I have personally never stayed in Oceanview or inside, but I would definitely choose Oceanview over inside. Mainly because I would want to be able to see the horizon and find a solid location to focus on if I were prone to sea sickness. And I don't like enclosed, small places with no natural light.

I am extremely prone to motion sickness and always book midship. We were on the 9th floor on the Dream and I thought it was a good location. I tend to feel the motion much worse in the front of the ship.

If you need midship, I would NOT do a GTY or *GT booking. They can (and do) put you anywhere onboard in that category or higher. I'd book a cabin that is midship.

I suffer from seasickness as well, we always tried to book midship as an extra precaution. If you want a more sure fire way to avoid it, take a Bonine tablet every night before bed starting the night before the cruise. They make me sleepy so taking it a bedtime insures a great night sleep too.

We have been on the aft as well forward and I am fine as long as I take that pill every night.

Have fun!

Is the dream about the same size as the fantasy? They have midship deck 8. I was considering that deck, but I have heard that the lower the deck midship is best

It's basically the same ship but with different decor. I feel better higher up but that might just be me. We book deck 7 on the Wonder/Magic and deck 9 on the Dream and I was ok with both. I would have be fine with 8, too. I do wear the patch no matter what and really, really need to. I still have issues with motion even when wearing it, but so much less than without it, but I'm still extremely sensitive to motion. The OTC stuff doesn't work for everyone. I know that the worst place for me has been the theater, which is lower down in the forward section.

Oh ok. Thank you so much! I think I will go with deck 8.
