I know I was concerned about Deck 10 noise on the Fantasy and looked here for answers, so wanted to share our experience. I posted our stateroom report for 10086, but also wanted to post here that the noise from above was not that bad and not enough not to book a Deck 10 room. Pirate Night was a noisy night, but other nights, no real noise, and really no noise noiticed before 7:30 a.m. and only once that early. Overall it was very convenient to be on 10 and the noise was not an issue. Of course if any noise from above will bother you, you might want to avoid this deck. Last year we were Deck 6 Fwd on the Dream and it was very, very quiet! Hope this helps.

I thought I would add to this. We were also on Deck 10, in room 10612. The first morning around 6 AM I heard a lot of noise directly above us that sounded like furniture being moved (I'm pretty sure it was the "outside" chairs and tables being moved for pressure washing). I was awake at the time. The noise did not wake my husband or son.

Most mornings after that the noise was not as bad. It did get to the point where I could tell it was 7 AM by the noise level above us. It wasn't terribly loud or disturbing, I could just tell there was activity.

I found our location to be pretty convenient. We could easily get to either the Aft or Midship stairs and elevator. I am an early riser, so I really liked being able to dart up the Aft stars to deck 11 for a cup of coffee while my husband and son slept in.

On the Dream we were on Deck 7, sandwiched between other cabins, and that room was much quieter, but I would stay on Deck 10 again. I never noticed any noise at night, and at no point did the noise ever wake me, I only noticed it because I was awake.

We found this stateroom to be very noisy at night. One night about 3 a.m., I went up to Deck 11 to see what could possibly be causing the noise. I didn't see anything going on. My best guess is that there were noises from the air conditioning system?

We settled on leaving on the TV all night to music at very low volume. It seemed to help.

We were in 10074 on the Fantasy on the June 16 trip and had very little noise. I think being in the middle helped considerably since it is just the pool deck above and that area does not have much going on early or late - even cleaning. One time on the Magic we were on a deck that had a dining room above and I can tell you they clean the floor at all times of the night. It sounded like a vacuum going over bare floor and transition strips, etc. I actually got up and walked up there to see what was going on and they stopped per our request. I always thought it was best to have a cabin above, but I liked the public deck with little early/late activity and would do it again.

wanted to bump this thread: we just got back and were on the 8/18 West Caribe on the Fantasy- stateroom 10554....got to say the noise was a real problem for me....

i am a light sleeper and invariably i was awoken every morning around seven from the sound of the crew working on the deck, dragging chairs on the pool deck as well as people clunking around...

we booked an EC for next year and when i told the CM at the future cruise desk i wanted a Deck 9 stateroom due to the noise, he understood and said, we know the noise is a problem and get a lot of complaints"...

I did a lot of research into the room locations and just recently switched my stateroom from deck 10 down to deck 9. Your post has reassured me that we'll be happier with deck 9 and hopefully be a little removed from the early morning noise.

We have a deck 10 room coming up soon and I'm pretty worried about the noise. Glad to hear most people didn't have a problem with it. We are planning to bring a white noise machine, so I'm hoping that will help. I've always made sure to be sandwiched between all-cabin decks in the past, but didn't have a say in my room location this time.

If you have an iPhone you could use Zen Garden app to generate the sounds of rain, ocean, brook, thunderstorm. Might be more convenient than carrying a separate white noise generator.

We booked a VGT rate for the 6/30 Fantasy and ended up on deck 10 aft, # 10564. I thought it was fine. Frankly we were worn out at the end of the day and all slept really well. There was a little noise overhead as they setup Cabanas, but nothing that would prevent me from being there again. We've stayed at the Contemporary a few times on the Chef Mickey's side of the building, and I found that noise to be MUCH worse.
Being 1 quick flight of stairs from Cabanas, the pool, and the beverage station outweighed any negatives.

What is the exact name of the app? I searched for zen garden and several popped up that we're not ocean sounds. Never could find one that was. Thanks

Try, Soothing Sounds Lite version, or Silent island Free version it's got quite a good selection. Another one is sleep maker Waves . :)

Oh and if it helps I've been on Deck 10 Twice and not been bothered with noise.

I am a very light sleeper and this was a huge problem for me being on deck 10. I heard very loud noise ALL times of the night...11pm, 1am, 3am, 5am. From kids running to power washing to moving chairs, we heard it all. This was the least restful vacation I've ever had. It would have been nice for the booking agent to mention the noise. Not acceptable for a trip of that cost in my opinion.

We originally booked 10080 for our upcoming cruise on the Fantasy. I'm a light sleeper, so I moved us down one deck. The noise level doesn't sound like it is bad, and it would not have bothered my husband or kids. I'm a light sleeper, though, and chairs moving above me in the morning would definitely wake me.

I am glad I read the reports here, it was helpful for me.

I feel for you! :goodvibes Deck 10 is completely about location and then what is above the cabins. If you have a more forward or aft cabin, the noise is minimal but if you are more Midship - yep, you will hear noise from above. I've stayed on deck 10 twice now and the first time 10566 wasn't awful, but it wasn't very quiet either. Then I stayed in 10646 and loved it - it's aft and Cabanas is above so it was quiet believe it or not.

I'd definitely recommend looking at the cabin location for deck 10 and seeing if it's under the pool area or any other area that might create noise. We also loved the overhang on deck 10 for the extra protection.

we were on deck 10 on the Fantasy in 2012, but moved to deck 9 last August due to the noise...i found the location just as nice and convenient without all the noise from above...staying on deck 9 again next august...

This is a very informative thread. We are going on the Disney Fantasy in April 2020 and because we booked late we ended up on deck two because the ship was full and all the verandahs were sold. i researched that stateroom and found out there was an issue with noise as it was close to a crew entrance and near a maintenance area. I kept looking each day for the next three days after booking to find a verandah with no luck but finally one became available. It is 10564 and I am really hopeful that the noise won’t be much and won’t bother us. Either way if I have a choice between noise with no verandah and noise with a verandah I will pick the verandah. I will update this thread when we get back to let everyone know how it turns out.
