**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Quick question regarding the FE - what was the cutoff for the final decision?

have a good day everyone!
Mati

No final decision, but how about 70 days out? That would be March 11th and a full 10 weeks.

I'll be cutting the list in two soon, so all can get a look at how many people will be in their group if they're doing "per person" gifts. Hopefully we won't get TOO many folks joining before 3/11.

Hi John!

Thanks for the update. I am struggling even figuring out what we will do and I guess the final count will impact that. 70 days should be plenty of time for me if everyone else is ok with that? I can't imagine I will be able to get anything done between now and then anyways. :goodvibes

Thanks for organizing all of this!!!
Mati

My daughter will turn 11 the week before the cruise.

Sabrina will be thrilled to have other "tweens" on the ship with her. I think Edge is a bit too old for her too but am worried Lab will be too "young". Maybe if she has friends will be a lot more fun?

We made a reservation with Bernards Tours, too.:dance3:

:cheer2: We are on at 9am. I know Kathy, her DS and DSGF are also in. Chasity and Gus may also join. Should be a fun tour!

Definitely a close call. I was thinking lab, but she may have different ideas. The kids still don't know we are going yet, but when we mentioned the possibility of them being in different clubs if we went, they got excited about it. Our son will be 9 in April. Since my daughter will only be 11 by one week, I am really leaning towards making her stay in the lab where her brother will be. Either way, she will be very happy. I guess we will just wait and decide when we get there.

That's disappointing since we have no idea where she would fit in best. I guess we'll have to check them both out on the first day before we decide. :confused3

We might check out that scrabble type website and let you know if Melissa's interested. :)

I think once you move them down from the Edge to the Lab you can't go back up. I think it would make sense to visit both open houses and then make a decision. It sounds like Sabrina may not have an option but I will let her tour the Edge and the Vibe so she can at least see what is all about. Sabrina looks much older - almost 5 feet tall already - but she is still my little girl. :)

That would be great! Ashley will be turning 11 and Matthew 9 in June. I want them to stay together, too. Even though I really trust my daughter I'm not sure if I like that checking out idea. She doesn't hang out with older girls, so it's kind of scary.

I know at age 8 you can grant your child check-in and check-out priviliges even to the Lab. Kai is too young at 7 but am really struggling with the idea of Sabrina coming and going as she pleases. Do they alert you when your child leaves on the wave phone even if they check themselves out? If so, I may consider. We'll see....

garRy: should you be working on this at all, given you think you are probably moving your cruise up to April? Your work if much appreciated... just hope not feeling obligated!

Agreed. The shirts look amazing but please don't feel obligated.

We've had this cruise booked for some time, but just joined disboards. For our cabin it is myself (Scott), my wife Mindy, and our 1 year old daughter Norah. We have been on a lot of cruises, but this will be our first Disney cruise. In fact this will be Norah's 4th cruise!!! We be all the way aft in cabin 9674 and love watching the wake as we sail out. Along with us will be my parents and brother's family. Looking forward to an amazing trip!

:cheer2::cheer2:Welcome!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Hi, everyone!

Just wanted to point out the post I made a few days ago in case some of you didn't see it and might be interested. The link to that post from up thread here.

Does this mean you are still sailing with us after all? :goodvibes

We head to Philly on Sunday to visit Shriner's Hospital and pick up the two new back braces for Sabrina. She is thrilled to miss school and go on a trip with her wonderful Mother :rotfl: BUT she is pretty sad about going back into a back brace. She wears one at night already but it doesn't do much. The new one will bend her so could cause some discomfort at first. Hopefully that isn't much of an adjustment. It is the second brace that has her upset. For those that remember, she had surgery in November to get out of the full time brace. Unfortunately her back is not cooperating and the doctor wants her back in a brace during the day - but only while at home. I think they said 6 hours a day. Hopefully it is comfortable and she gets used to it. I'll take her shopping in Philly and hope that helps :goodvibes

In meantime, wish us luck. I will probably read posts this weekend but not post anything until we return - so Wednesday morning most likely.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
Mati

THIS is already done just getting the prices the ladie I deal with her mother past away so she is behind on things with the shop, which I can understand, if I change cruises the she would get more orders becuase its easy for her to change the dates on the shirt, maybee a cheaper price. She will have that later today and she is sorry for the lateness of this, colors she has picked for the shirts or 2 a SAND COLOR or LIGHT BLUE

so unless some one tells me otherwise I'll keep going ?????? if nothing else you will see me wear them.

more later

you guys are a great bunch

And so did I for me, Jake and MaryRose :thumbsup2. Brian is infatuated with the airport and wants to spend a big chunk of the day there, so he is taking a cab. Bernard's Tours looks like a great tour with lots of great stops .

Now, I'm really happy that we booked with Bernards Tours. For St. Thomas we have a reservation with Fury Charters, hope to see some turtles! We did some research and got a good price. It's not a private trip and only half a day but will be enough for kids.
What are your plans for St. Thomas?

You quoted me when you asked this, so I wasn't sure if you meant this for me, but sorry if I gave the wrong impression somewhere. We've always been sailing on this cruise. So, yes, we'll definitely be there! :):woohoo:

Provided enough people sign up for it, we're doing Rumbaba Charters for a full day sail. It'll be awesome - still looking for people to join in. I posted about this up the thread. :)

70 days sounds great. I have already done a gift for everyone on the list, but this is OK, I enjoyed making them. Thanks for all your hard working organising it, :surfweb: you've done a sterling job. :thumbsup2

And for those of you booking March 5th, I plan to post the same info if possible March 2 or 3rd. ;)

Sorry folks... but I don't need to wait til March 3... Palo brunch and tea been sold out. I check daily for ya... no change. BUT with final payment due March 5, I'm still hoping some will open for all of us (as a silver, I discovered was already sold out at midnight 90 day mark). Unless I post otherwise, no change between now and then. I did look at a few of the popular excursions and saw the same times available (St Thomas). Good luck y'all

On our last cruise, Dream 4 night Bahamas, I was unable to get online ressies for Palo brunch. I saw that you could try to book once onboard at Palo's at 1:00pm. I went to the podium at 12:45 and with smiles on their faces, that CMs behind the podium said "NO PROBLEM!" and got us booked. From what I've heard, there are only a limited number of ressies available at each online booking interval so those ressies get booked quickly.

I would give it another shot at 75 days out and then again onboard. All is not lost!

I see some people have said they booked Palo in advance, but for us it is saying we can't do it until 3/5 even though we've made final payment. How do we book in advance then?

People who have cruises before have platinum, gold or silver castaway club status. That allows them the chance to book activities earlier.

70 days is fine with me. I also have already done something for all that are on the list, but thats okay too.

Thank you for the offer but I don't think we are interested. I hope you can find someone to share with you. Still haven't figured out what we are going to do on St. Maarten. Haven't found anything that sounds perfect for us.:sad2: Still looking.

Wow! So much activity!!! Welcome to new friends! StJohnsCrew, our boys are 7 and 9 (Alex, the 7yo, will be 8 the week after the cruise) so they're around your DS's age too :)

I still can't decide on excursions. Having never been to either island before, I'm thinking shopping and local beach and just relaxing. I love the idea of having an excursion to take care of things, but I also like the idea of going back to a quieter ship while everyone else is out exploring, haha :) What to do, what to do! I have a little while to figure it out ;)

Still checking for those coveted Palo brunch ressies... Holding out hope for that onboard score :)
