I thought I signed up for the FE back in May when we booked this cruise but I couldn't find us in the roll call. I'm now trying to go back through and read all of the post and play *catch-up*. I saw a group t-shirt mentioned in one of the post and would love to know more about that. Counting down the days and can't wait till our cruise!!!

HI! Got your info on the FE List.

While we certainly would not want someone to drop out or not sign up for the FE exchange due to there being so many participants; my family will be giving one gift to each cabin. We are so excited to be celebrating hubby retiring as well as hubby and sons first Disney Cruise that we want to share with everyone who is participating.

The graphics are all wonderful - thank you to those who are so talented and willing to share!

Hello all! It's been a looong time since I have been on the boards. This past year was extremely crazy, especially adjusting to life with a new baby. As a result I am just now getting around to really planning the cruise.

I've also not been able to keep up with everyone posts, but I'm sure you all have been having a blast talking and planning the cruise. As a result of time contraints and being super busy my family and I will be withdrawing from the FE exchange.

We will still be on the cruise but I'm afraid I was trying to bite off more than I could chew with all my planning. It wouldn't have been a problem at all if it was just DH and I, but I think my hands are going to be full with a 16 month old on the cruise, lol! I'm soo looking forward to vacation. :thumbsup2

I watched the float out ceremony today and I can't wait to see more pictures from our beautiful ship.

We're starting to get in FE panic mode as well, but we're still gonna do it :)

not good at this so I really hope it works

this was where the webcam is on her live

garRy:rolleyes:

As you may know, the webcam has been "stuck" or off since the first night of float out. :confused3

After being excited to see "live" the Fantasy for the next several weeks, I am in terrible withdrawal from deprivation... :rotfl2:

anyone know if/when we will get views again?

Hi Everyone! It has been awhile but wanted to quickly jump on and say Happy new Year.

We are all doing fine (including Sabrina). She may need a second surgery but we don't know for sure yet. We should find out (we better find out  ) soon. It is driving us crazy not knowing the schedule or the plan.

I told the nurse about the cruise and if she does have surgery, we would need it to be done before the end of March so she can swim by mid-May. I am of course hoping for no surgery but we shall see.

Otherwise, work is work - all stress and no play BUT it does pay and that is what allows us to do this sort of thing.

have started to jump back on the boards a bit to try to get excited about the cruise -- it worked! and I am looking forward to it so much BUT am struggling quite a bit with a few decisions.

We need to book flights and hotel and debating on where to stay the night before and how to get to the port. Also really debating tacking on a trip to WDW on the end. It would add $$ to the trip but then again, it's only money right? ;) I don't think we will be going to WDW but, haven't closed the door on that yet. If by some miracle, Sabrina doesn't need more surgery, may just do it because then she could ride roller coasters -- otherwise, we have to see. Need to make up my mind soon. Right now flights are pretty good but that won't last.

On the fence with the FE exchange. A bit freaked at number of cabins and haven't started anything so may drop on that.

Ok, that's it for now, will try to jump on more frequently depending on work.

Have a good Hump Day everyone!
Mati

Wow-- lots of activity in the last couple of weeks!!! Great artwork to all of you who are so talented! I don't mix well with computers, so I'm grateful for those of you who can do that and share!!!! Thank you!!!! And welcome to the newcomers! So excited to have a big group! We had a big group in our last FE and I was a little overwhelmed at first, but it was fun. We're great with it being split up to make it easier, but I think we plan to do all of the staterooms as well :-)

Getting ready for what the news is calling a "winter blast" to come in tonight... We're getting a whopping one inch of snow, lol :happytv: They've even started announcing plans for if school is delayed (my kids go to a private school and have a half day tomorrow, so if the county has a 2-hour delay, we get cancelled... kids are excited!). I guess the one inch is a big deal for the hills here, but, being from the snow belt, I find it pretty humorous... Especially since my parents got almost a foot on the second of January and still had school on the 3rd :)

Time to browse for FE gifts! Can't wait!!!!!!!

Regarding shore excursions, have any of you figured out what you want to do? We've got a few ideas in mind. At Castway Cay, we'll probably rent the four-person paddle boats. The water trikes look fun, but the three of us in our group (DSis, DNiece, and I) can't do them together, so that's probably out. I've always wanted to go the Trunk Bay on St. John (supposed to be one of the 10 ten beaches in the Caribbean (if not the entire world), so we'll probably do the Disney excursion over there. We've thought about doing it on our own, but we're a bit nervous doing it in our own in case we get held up and can't get back in time! :scared1: We'd also like to do the Skyway on St. Thomas, but I'm not sure we'll have time to do both that and the trip over to St. John. On St. Maarten, we're thinking of doing the Golden Eagle Catamaran or something on our own. It's hard to find excursions that accommodate a 6-year-old and aren't just tours of the city. We'd love to take my niece parasailing, but we can't do that on Castaway Cay (they require children to be 8 or older). If we can find a reputable local operator that we could use to go parasailing and take my niece, we'd like to do that. I have to do some research on that option. Does anyone else know what they're doing?

We're kind of in the same.... boat (groan). This is our first cruise, so DW and I sort of going generic, but we're also keeping very open minds as to our options. St. Maarten is proving to be the hardest, but I did come across a non-DCL excursion site that said something about a private 3-hour snorkel and beach deal that looks intriguing (there's a limit of 12 people, and a flat rate for up to 6.)
On St. Thomas, right now we're leaning toward doing a walking tour of Charlotte Amelie.
None of this is even remotely set in stone, we're still feeling out our options. As long as we get some beach time and some shopping in, it's all good. :goodvibes

We're starting to get in FE panic mode as well, but we're still gonna do it :)

That is the plan anyway. I hope to get started this weekend...

I'm sorry I've been away from the boards for so long - since last fall. A lot has happened to our fellow cruisers. First I want to express my deepest sympathies to Tony and Sue. Losing a parent is hard. Also my thoughts are with those of you that are facing health issues and struggles. Hopefully all will be better in time for our cruise :)

I am interested in the bracelets and awesome designed tshirts.. can't speak for DH but he probably is too. :yay:

Can't wait to meet everyone. I will actually look forward to this cruise once I get past my FE panic mode ;)

Belated Happy New Year everyone :cheer2: :yay:

I can't believe the Cruise is this YEAR!!! We were up very early and sat on the couch and watched the float out of the Fantasy and it made us even more excited for the upcoming cruise.

We aren't planning very much, but we figure we will do the Under 2 Flags tour on St. Maarten and then will head back to the boat and enjoy the afternoon on the ship. In St. Thomas we will take the St. Thomas Island Tour that goes to Mountain Top, and St. Peter's Greathouse. We did these tours in 2006 but given our mobility issues are the only ones we know we can handle.

But until I know we are paid in full and all I won't get too excited because I always fear the chance that it won't happen.

We did lock in parking at the park and cruise lot for $4.99 a day so that was exciting since we live in Orlando, parking the car for $17 at the port was a huge expense so being able to save so much by parking 5 minutes away works out great for me.

Hope all are doing well. I have 4 challenging classes at UCF this semester to keep me occupied until we cruise. Then my commencement ceremony is May 5th for Valencia College where I got my AA Degree in August. I turn 30 on May 18th and we leave on the 19th so So much exciting things waiting for me at the end of the semester!!!

I've been reading the forums as we are on the 19th May Fantasy cruise. We are very interested but unsure what to do to get on the list and don't know what FE is. Help!! Thanks so much, Elaine:confused::dance3:

Hi guys, it's been a while, just going through the same holiday craziness as the rest of you. Thought I would add these links in case anyone is curious about the "personal navigators". These are for the Magic itinerary which mirrors ours, but of course it's a different ship and a year prior. Nonetheless it gives you an idea of the events, schedule, etc. and it looks like the dress code links up.

Day 1 will be a deck party for bon voyage, casual dress for dinner
Day 2 at sea, broadway-style show, formal dress for dinner
Day 3 at sea, broadway-style show, casual dress for dinner
Day 4 in port St. Maarten, Pirate Deck party, fireworks, dress is casual or pirate for dinner
Day 5 in port St. Thomas/St. John, dress is casual for dinner
Day 6 at sea, broadway-style show, semi-formal dress for dinner
Day 7 in port Castaway Cay, broadway show, casual dress for dinner
Day 8 disembark in the morning

I have two questions for the collective:

1) Any guesses as to the morning on which we'll have the character breakfast?
2) Any recommendations for Port Canaveral area hotels for one night prior to the cruise?

Thanks guys, looking forward to meeting you all.

Welcome! Got you on the FE List (which can always be found by following the link in my signature - bookmark it and you can always see the current list)

1) Any guesses as to the morning on which we'll have the character breakfast?
2) Any recommendations for Port Canaveral area hotels for one night prior to the cruise?

1 - There will be a character breakfast on each of the three sea days. Which one you get, and at which time, will be determined by your seating rotation and whether you have early or late dinner. you will learn what day and time you get once you board and get your dining room tickets in your room. Your servers may give you an 'invitation' (reminder) as well the day before.

2 - Someone on her can tell you which ones have a free shuttle to the pier. However, if you don't need such an amenity, I know the Marriott Courtyard and the Hilton in Cocoa Beach are really nice. :)
