Hi all, we have switched to a 2013 cruise. I hope you all have a wonderful cruise full of pixie dust and memories!

I decided to check 2013 prices to see about booking. It seems that trying to book at 1:30 on opening day didn't really help anything. The price for 2013 May Fantasy cruise for a 5c like we have for this cruise is actually more right now than what we booked in July for this cruise. We will go on our May 2012 cruise and have a blast but then I think we will give cruising a break. My DH wants to do something different anyway. It's just so hard to pass up the 10% and the OBC that comes with booking while on a cruise. We have never been to Disney World so maybe we will do that in 2013!

Hopefully everyone has heard/seen the announcements of new water features on the Fantasy. I am on an awkward hotel computer, so won't try to post links.

I must say DCL went up a bunch of notches in my book. As I read the dueling reviews 1) complaining of same pool size on Dream (with 1000 more passengers) versus 2) it is a sin to complain about pools I thought that no way can DCL do anything about it. pools take depth into decks below.... just no fix.

Their solutions are clever (I thought)

Haha-- thanks I just think that life is crazier this time around... I felt so much more on top of things on the boards the last time we did DCL... But our group was MUCH smaller! This is a huge Dis-group, which is absolutely fun and fantastic-- I just can't keep up, lol

I agree on the changes. They could have just left things the way they were and went with it, but I think they really take opinions into account and want to make it the best they can. There's nothing quite like Disney customer service, and I think this is one of those cases.

I, for one, can't wait to make full use of the pool deck no matter what they put on it

214 Days until we set Sail! I can't wait as school is really taking up all of my time!

We booked our 2013 cruise but are going to try the Dream as I can't miss school and the 7 night cruises were soooo much more expensive in 2013 then they were in 2012 and since I'd have to go during Spring Break or the Summer well we went for a 4 night instead of no cruise at all.

But we will savor every one of the 7 nights we are going to be on the Fantasy for in 214 days!

I just have to say, this group is pretty special. Sorry I've been gone for a while, but it's amazing to see how you all follow each other and support each other. The group has become a family, even so far from sail date. Pretty amazing.

While I haven't written much lately, I've been following everything and would like to add my well wishes.

My husband deployed to Afghanistan (embassy, not military) in September and will be there for a year. I work full time, and have my little guys, so I have been reading this only once a week. We are doing b2b cruises and a few days at WDW in May to make my husband's trip from the middle east worth the four flights both ways.

I really like the additional water areas on the fantasy. How cool that they added so many. I'm assuming fro the lack of a mention that the adult pool will remain the same. Interesting.

Again, thanks to all who have not only organized us, but determined our name, designed our logo, organized the bracelets, everything. Amazing group!

First let me say I love our group too! And I am sorry that your husband will be away for a year. Tony will be gone this weekend and we are not sure that we are okay with it. I couldn't imagine a year! I hope he is safe and well and that it goes by fast!

Has anyone done any of the port adventures or activities on their own on the islands? Any suggestions? Starting to look at stuff and can't decide whether to do an adventure or just do something on our own... I have done Western a couple of times, but never the Eastern, so this is new to us!

Also-- are there any other DVC-ers out there who used points to cruise? I tried to access my reservation using my res number on my DVC record and it won't work... Hmmmm

Oh! And I almost forgot I had an idea... Actually, I stole an idea Anyway-- on our last cruise, we had a meet and the families who wanted to participate brought something reminiscent of their hometown/state and took part in a "gift exchange" of sorts... As people turned in their item, they put their family name on a piece of paper and a name was picked to receive each gift. I know we have the FE on DCL, but I thought it might be another fun addition if anyone was interested... Maybe not, but I thought I'd throw it out there

glad school is going well. How is your mom and when is her surgery?

Thank you I'm glad school is going well too its hard with my neck injury at times but I am doing well so I will just take pleasure in knowing that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Mom is putting off her surgery for as long as possible as it will require her to be out of work for at a minimum of 2 months but more like 4 months. She doesn't want to be out of work that long so she is putting it off until she can't do so any longer. Thank you for asking about how she is doing. She is doing good overall just moving a little slower then normal.

Yep! We went on the Magic in February of '09 (Western)... We also did RC's Enchantment in the winter of '10 (9 night Bahamas out of Baltimore)... Those are the only ones I've joined boards for anyway

I'd like to join you in thanking people for the board. I know I've slacked in keeping up with it just because of day-to-day life. That and I'm computer illiterate with anything past posting a simple thread, so those of you who are posting pictures and keeping the roll call up and running-- you have my gratitude and admiration, haha I'm lucky I can stick in the smileys!

Hoping everyone in the Northeast is faring well. We were lucky and only got some minor flurries on Saturday morning. Although I'm one of those sick people who enjoy the snow (grew up in the snowbelt-- I don't think I had a choice!), I think 2 feet in October would be a little much So, stay warm and enjoy some bonus days off school AND think happy thoughts of the Disney Fantasy to get you through the cold!!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! This means that tomorrow we are 1 month closer to our cruise and that has to be a good thing right?

We're heading to the Food & Wine Festival for Round 2 of our Eat around the world extravaganza we went on a Saturday a few weeks ago and it was PACKED so we are going on Wednesday to enjoy it hopefully with less crowds.

I guess that is a PERK of living 12 mins away from EPCOT is that we can go whenever the mood hits but with school that mood has to be scheduled LOL.


I'm home sick today from school, though, I have a chest cold that I picked up either from some kid at the Elementary school I volunteer at, a fellow classmate at the college, or from someone visiting WDW during one of our visits last week. Either way it better be gone and done with by Wednesday so I can taste all the food I am going to be enjoying.

Hope all who are in the Northeast stay warm, safe, and that the winter is not as bad as predicted. My aunt/grandma and other family still live in CT/MA and lost power during the storm. So we are all aware down here how bad it was/is for most up in that area. Please be safe.
