Hello All!

Does anyone have any experience with this room on the Fantasy or Dream? Curious to know if this room has the white "skin" obstruction?
TIA!
M.

Unfortunately, I believe it has it on the left side of your verandah. I couldn't find any pics labeled because your room is right in the middle of the ship. If I did the math correct though you do. Let's just see is somebody else sides with me. I'm not sure how reliable I am lol.

From another thread:

"9078F - 4A - S: 5, B, M" That's a cat 4A, sleeps 5 with a bunk and murphy.

Also, check out this thread:

If you check out the photos, you can see room 9578 (mirror to 9078) looks like it will have the skin down the side. If you have the connecting 9076 with it, you will have the skin between the two balconies and it will look like this:

Would you happen to know why Disney would put these in? To me they should be a whole new category.

My TA was told by someone from the DCL call center that it had to do with the fire regs, but I don't think that's true. There was no fire door between those rooms. What seems weird to me is that they'd have it between the connecting rooms. But different angles on the balcony didn't look like this. It was in the way of a perfect shot or view, but it wasn't the end of the world. We had a balcony, right?

Thanks so much for the info..We don't have the connecting room so I guess we'll have it only on one side. Did you like the location otherwise? (You stayed on the Starboard side? We usually stay in the Aft/ Starboard side but the vibration was so terrible last time I decided to try out Midship :) It'll be the first time we have this "obstruction" but I'm with you, a balcony is balcony. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
Thank you!

I know your not asking me but I'll put in some input. Midship is the best. Noise is pretty much nonexistent. Agreed, aft has a lot of vibration during docking. This is one of the best non-concierge rooms.

1) Big (for a cruise ship)

2) Midship (close to all the activities)

3) deck 9 is the best passenger deck besides 11 and 12. It has no noise because it's between 8 and 10.

And last of all, have fun on the fantasy. I want to go on the fantasy so, so bad. I've been on the dream and Magic and going on the wonder soon. Have fun!

Thank you! Your input is appreciated :) This will be on second cruise on the Fantasy and we've been 2x on the Dream and been AFT every time. The vibration wasn't an issue on the Dream only the Fantasy, but it was pretty much all the time, not only when docked that's why I chose Midship this time. It's been mentioned that this issue might be taken care of during dry dock but I've always wanted to try Midship anyway.

I'll be sure to report on it after the cruise! Thanks for the well wishes and hope you one day get to experience it too1

We were actually in 9112 and 9114, which are 4a portside aft. Very nice rooms. I would stay there again, but if I had a choice between that skin and not, I'd not get it. I'd go 9108 and 9110 next time. We liked being aft, but we were pretty close to mid, so maybe that's the difference.

I should mention 9078 is a connecting room. I don't think it's anything to worry about, but some people have concerns about that inner door.

Someone had a picture of that skin with just the one balcony. I forget which thread it was in but it looked similar to this (only higher up)

Thank you so much for all the info and pics, I truly appreciate it. Honestly, after looking at these pics and some of my old ones, I think I'm going to go ahead and change rooms. It's truly not bad but I have the opportunity to switch and I do prefer the open view..this was my view last September. Thanks again!!!

That's an awesome view.

Use that first thread I posted if you want to check if it sleeps 5. No guarantees people have posted that room number, but it's a good resource to check.

Thanks!!! After Alaska we plan to do double dip at CC which is on the fantasy :)

9076 does have the skin obstruction. I don't think most would mind it but we spend A TON of time on the verandah. If I'm correct, the obstruction always affects two adjoining rooms.

I have 9076 booked for Dec cruise. Do you think it is worth switching to 9096 or 9574?
Oh, my bad. I miscalculated that. Anyways I would just for the best experience. You want to make it as good as possible.

All things being equal, and if you spend a lot of time on the balcony, you might want to switch. It's not that you'll be unhappy, but there is about a foot obstruction on those balconies with the skin. There's an old thread on here somewhere where that OP lamented her room choice for that reason, but most people who commented thought the obstruction was nothing. It hadn't bothered them at all. But if you've had other rooms without the obstruction, you might notice it. We noticed it, obviously, because it was between our two rooms. While I would have preferred to not have it, it didn't stop me from enjoying my time on the verandah.

We were in 9080 on the Fantasy in Oct. In the photo 9080 is circled in blue, 9078 in red. Great room and great location on this ship.
