Fantasy 7N Western - July 6, 2013

Hi! We just moved our July 20th WC cruise to July 6th so DH can go lobstering for the 'mini' season. lol. It's costing him a lot since we had to upgrade from an oceanview to a verandah. Happy Birthday to me (and my daughter!)

This will be our 4th DCL, 2nd 7 night cruise. We love 7 night cruises by far! All the others seem too short. DH LOVES sea days and wishes there was one more on this one like on the Eastern one we did last year.

I'm trying to figure out what excursions to do. I'm supposed to sign up in 2 days now! DD wants to meet a dolphin like we did last year. She's only 3 and she STILL remembers 'Andy' kissing her from Blue Lagoon in Nassau last March!! Anyone know which one is the best for her age? I saw Dolphiarius but it was just for kids and I kind of want to be there with her to experience it with her.

Did anyone figure out which place was best for seeing ruins?

Does anyone know what night is Pirate night? I want to do Palo one night and don't want to do it on Pirate night.

I signed up for the FE but I'm on the fence a little. I don't like them when they get too big. I was too overwhelmed.

Is there a master list like other threads where you can easily see who's on the cruise?

The hour finally arrived to reserve excursions. One of the benefits of living on the west coast is the window opens at midnight eastern time so we only need to stay up to 9:00 pm. In Grand Cayman we will take the Duck Boat Tour. We wanted the helmet dive but no reservations were available. In Costa Maya we will visit the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins. In Cozumel we will visit Xplor Park.

I logged in at midnight and booked a few excursions and a Palo Brunch and Remy dinner and got our port arrival time of 11am! I hope relax a few hours before it gets too crowded.

I'm a planner so I love to see which nights are formal/semi formal and what kinds of things might be going on. I know this can all change but I still like looking. Here's a link of the recent navigators from our cruise itinerary if anyone is interested.

If you are staying on Disney property pre-cruise & paid for transfers to the port I didn't think you were allowed to pick a port arrival time. Although, when I did the online check-in it did ask me & I picked 11 a.m. Hmm, did this change? I sware when we did the Dream cruise they told us there were only 2 pick-up times for WDW resort guests and we really didn't have a choice.

We were able to get everything we wished for, too! I am happy to see most people do.

We are going to the ruins in Cost Maya as well at 12:15 PM.

We also have a PAT of 11 AM.

This is my first post on the DISBoards. My wife and I are going on this trip. I'm Jeff and she is Kathleen. We are in our thirties, and this is our first cruise on DCL. We have done Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, HAL, and Princess. We have an outside guarantee cabin.

We are also spending a couple of days at WDW before the trip so as to extend the vacay a little.

My girls are similar ages to yours as well, DD 13 (almost 14) and DD 8 (almost 9)

Our children are also close in age. DD will be 15, DS1 will be 13, and DS2 will be 11 at the time of the cruise. I will get emails from the older two but my youngest does not use email yet.

Can we (as a Dis Boards group) plan a "meeting" at the start of the cruise? I think I read somewhere that some groups do that

Hello! I was trying to figure out why nobody was posting on Cruise Critic, and then I stumbled on this website. Hello!

My partner, Steve, and I just made our final payment today, so we are all set for this sailing. It will be our fifth time cruising, but first time on a Disney Cruise. We are huge Disney fanatics, frequent visitors at Disneyland, which is 45 minutes from where we live. And we have a good friend who is performing on the Disney Fantasy in the nighttime shows. His sister might be joining us as well. So, we have a couple of reasons to be excited about this cruise.

Our excursion planning is moving along. I will be scuba diving and Steve will be snorkeling at Cozumel for sure (through a private scuba shop). It looks like we're staying at an all-inclusive at Costa Maya. We probably will just hang out on the beach at Castaway Cay. And we haven't decided about what we'll do at Grand Cayman. I would like to see Stingray City, but Steve thinks that's too much "nature" for him (getting up so close and personal with the stingrays).

We are booked for Palo dinner and brunch. And we are booked for Remy on Friday night.

We look forward to this cruise and meeting some of you. We don't have any children traveling with us, and I see that most of you do. Even though we enjoy children (especially all of our nieces and nephews), I have an idea that we'll be hanging out a lot by the Cove Pool and Bar.

Greg, which scuba shop are you using in Cozumel? DH used to be a dive enthusiast and my older DD has taken all the classroom work to be PADI certified. She just needs to do her certification dive. But it looks like you have to be 12 to do any diving with the Disney excursions. She will be 6 weeks shy of her 12th birthday.

We have not made any excursion reservations though. I think we will play things more by ear and do things on our own if we want.

We made a Remy champagne brunch reservation for just DH and I on the last sea day. That will be my birthday present to me. My birthday is the week afterwards. Anyone know if they do something for a birthday at the brunch? I don't really want a cake but something small and fun would be nice.

We also made a Palo dinner reservations for my ILs, DH and I on the 4th night. I realize now that is the Prince and Princess night? Is there anything in particular that is special that night at dinner in the MDRs?
