I am looking at a cruise on the Fantasy for 3 of us (DH and 9 yo son) and there are 2 cabins showing as category 4E- cabin #'s 5660 and 5654. DCL's description says these are "extended verandahs" but it is really difficult to tell how extended they are. I have read the old posts and looked at pics but cannot determine if either of these cabins have the clear wrap around balconies or solid with white partitions. I am also curious if the offset of space inside the room is worth what you gain on the verandah? If anyone has stayed in either of these rooms, i woudl love to hear your experience and whether you would do it again!

I book 4E but have never stayed lower than 7. I know there is flag obstruction on floor 6 while in port (noise from the wind & flag). We enjoy the larger veranda, but be warned this area is not for everyone. The nonstop vibrations are a pain and some can’t sleep through it. The doors rattle and we fold up paper to jam in the doors to keep the noise down. Some nights the rattling and vibrations are worse than others. According to our room host last week, he said there’s always some guest who can’t take it and will request a move to a quieter location. I knew this when I booked my first time in the 5E (now 4E) rooms. I find the fantasy is worse than the Dream. We’ve stayed in this category about 10 times. I always tell folks, the bigger veranda comes at a cost. It’s not for everyone. 🚢🚢

The two cabins OP is looking at are on the side of the ship, not the back, so the flag situation is a non-issue. I totally agree the vibrations are a pain on the fantasy. Note that is true for all aft staterooms, not just the extended verandahs, so best to book midship if you want to avoid engine vibrations.

We always get a 4E forward and they are wonderful. I agree with the previous poster who said to look at the link and post 6, that is generally what you will get in a deck 5, 4E. There are a few that have one curved side rather than the metal partition and you can see into the adjacent balcony if you are standing at the rail. I prefer these as you have a more open feel, but the privacy is not as good. There will be 2 regular chairs, 2 partially reclining chairs and one table. The interior is the size/configuration of a family veranda and most only sleep 3. No extra chair no round tub. We prefer the balcony space to interior space, but every family is different.

Thank you so much for the great replies! It is helpful to know that vibrations are an issue on the Fantasy. I have had aft cabins before on NCL and, while I loved the view and the privacy, I did not love the shaking! Appreciate the heads up! And yes- there was some verandah envy while looking the pictures :)
