Fantasy 2nd May Crowd Levels

We will also be joining you on the May 2 cruise. We've been on a full ship before and it's not that bad. We were always able to find a table at Cabanas and find beach chairs on Castaway Cay. I've heard of people complaining about long lines in the mega ships with other cruise lines but DCL have great layouts and they can direct traffic very well.

Now that we are all back from the wonderful cruise I'm just wondering what the OP thought.

Personally, I thought they crowd levels were a bit lower than some of the other DCL (this was #13 for us) cruises. Saw lots of empty seats in the MDR during second seating.

I agree. When we checked in we asked about upgrade possibilities and I was glancing at the sheet of open rooms and there were about 15 or so inside rooms empty and about 15 other rooms in higher categories available.

Normally I sail on cruises that seem to be full so this one seemed to be a bit more empty than what I was used to.

I understand that the cruises are generally busy all year round but has anyone sailed in May on the Fantasy? My wife and I are on the 2nd May sailing and I'm wondering how busy it is likely to be? Crowd calanders for our post cruise stay at WDW says the parks will be 4/5 out of 10. Is May generally classed as a quieter season?

I agree. This cruise really wasn't that bad at all. I'd say it felt like it was 75% full. I always found a table at Cabanas to eat. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas at Serenity Bay and the theatre shows had plenty of seats for us. I was very happy with this cruise and we will consider doing this again next May.

We were told that the ship on the May 2 sailing was at 3500 people, so not completely full. (The week prior was very slow, by report, and concierge had 10 rooms open and available for port upgrade.)
I thought it felt very busy in the common areas.
