Wow you got a great deal!, you know I messed up and put my Fantasy cruise on hold not knowing that they couldnt transfer my Dummy cruise to the one I have on hold so I wont get the 10% discount or the 10% down payment or the $200n OBC, but I did get one of the glitch cruises so I really cant complain I just emailed Dreams Unlimited last night to see what kind of OBC can they offer me for transferring it to them!

How do prices go up $3000 in 3 hrs?

This happens with holiday cruises that fall over spring break, Thanksgiving, Christmas and any special cruises like the Panama Canal or Transatlantic. There are very few rooms available after just a few hours with the demand for those dates.

Will someone Please tell me how do you get all this OBC, I am booked (cruise on hold)but I didnt transfer my dummy cruise for this one I guess I was the dummy so I will not get the 10% discount, deposit or the $200 OBC someone please help me get some type of OBC!

The $350 and $275 OBC look like Platinum and Gold On Board Booking Credits. Silver gets $200. The $600 looks like a TA OBC. Some TAs though will reduce OBC on transferred ressies

Kimberly, is the price on the cruise you just booked still low enough you could cancel what you just booked and have them transfer your on board booking to the cruise and rebook? I sure hate for you to loose that OBC and the OBB discount.

You may want to talk to a travel agent, or even DCL direct about it. I know Dreams Unlimited is offering on board credits as well. I got $150 OBC from them to add on the $200 I got on board the Dream.

Let me know how it turns out and when you and little man are sailing.

I agree with 1153rsmith about finding out if it's worth it to cancel what you have on hold and move your dummy date to it. That's the whole point of booking a dummy date. Also the pp you quoted has 3 cabins booked so that's $200/cabin, which is what DCL will give you when sailing a cruise that was booked onboard (even if you change it to a different sailing later on land, it's still the same res # therefore OBB perks follow it.)

There are TAs that will give you OBC just as a thank you for booking with them which can be stacked with the OBC from DCL.
We'll be platinum by then so we'll get $350 from DCL + $200 from TA = $550 for 1 cabin. :cloud9:

If you didn't request a TA at the time you booked the dummy date, you can probably make the change online yourself. If you really like the cabin you have on hold, just go into that reservation and change to a different cabin which will "free up" the one you like. Then modify your dummy date to the desired date & recapture the cabin you like.

Good luck!

I tried to talk to DCL but no luck I got one of those Glitch cruises where the price was dirt cheap the price doubled within a couple of hours. When I saw the cruise I just put it on hold when I should have went and logged into DCL with the dummy booking reservation number and modified it to the new 2013 cruise. I had no clue I thought I could just call DCL and they would just apply the discount to the cruise I had held but it doesn’t work like that especially since the cruise price went up. I really can’t complain I got the cruise for little of nothing in terms of DCL pricing, but I do hate I am losing all my incentives from my dummy cruise, I am going to call around to some TA ‘s tomorrow to see what kind of OBC I can get! This was an expensive lesson learned but one definitely learned. It’s funny because I am one of those people that looks into everything before I do anything but I guess the cheap price had me in shock! I really thought DCL would have done something even if was half of my OBC. I don’t care much about the 10%down payment and the 10% discount is not that big of a deal but the $200 OBC well that stings! To be honest I really have not been impressed with how DCL has handled things, when I was on the Dream my cabin had bed bugs I got ate up. I called Guest services and even went down to Guest services to show the bites and nothing was done accept they would have housekeeping check it out. Once I got home DCL called and said they didn’t find anything. I told them that I was informing them so that the problem could be addressed before the next passengers sailed and that I would hate for anyone to have go through what I went through. Needless to say I didn’t get a sorry which was all I was looking for and that family in my cabin would not have to have the itchy itches while on their Dream Cruise. Well anyways Evan and I will set sail on the Fantasy in 2013 and that is all that matters in the end. Tell the family we said hi!

Thanks! It's my fault I didn’t know I had to go into DCL under my dummy cruise reservation number to change the cruise. It was my first time booking a dummy cruise and I should have asked more questions on how I go about changing things! I even asked them if I could use the friends and family certificate they gave me when I booked the dummy cruise on the other cabin for my sister and nephew which would have given them a $200 OBC but they said no to that as well which I didn’t understand why! I will say that while I was on RCCL's FOS last year I brought my future cruise certificate, with RCCL you don’t have to book a dummy cruise. Once you find your cruise you just put it on the 24 hr hold and call in and they apply the incentives for you and you can change the sailing as many times as you like the only down side is that the $100pp is non refundable, but it never expiries so I guess I was thinking DCL was similar so again my fault needless to say that in the end we will be on the Fantasy and that’s what counts. I am taking my 5yr old son on the LOS next year and if he is as excited about Shrek’s ship( as he calls it)then we will do RCCL in 2013 or Carnival’s Breeze cause he has been saying that he wants to go on those slide ships(Carnival Ships) so as long as my 5yr old wants to explore other cruise lines then we will and since he started off at the top with DCL it will be more money in my pocket if he wants to cruise elsewhere.

We booked it at 6:04 am Pacific time. At that time they showed significantly lower prices. W/in a few hours the prices had gone up tremendously. It is thought that the original prices were a glitch. I am not positive, but I think some of the higher rooms may have even been cheaper than the lower rooms. I see that someone booked a 4E for 2 adults for 2288 on the same cruise. I don't know what the charge would have been for some kids in there, but it may have been less than my 11C was.

I'll answer about you using the F&F certificate, but we really need to keep this thread just for posting the cruise prices.

The F&F certificate can only be used by someone else when they sail on the same cruise that you booked onboard and it has to be booked within 30 days of the certificate issue date. It is not intended for your use on another cruise.

If it makes you feel any better I'm losing $350 OBC for not being able to transfer an onboard booking because I also booked one of the pricing glitch cruises. So you aren't the only one that's missing out on the onboard OBC, but I'm sure the savings outweighs the missed OBC. That's the way I'm looking at it - I'll take the $700 savings over the $350 OBC.
