i just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who was on the 01/30 Fantasy sailing and received the 20% off discount.
I happened to be in the atrium area of the ship when the 20% announcement was made. I noticed the line starting to build at the future cruise desk, so I got in line. I booked a future cruise, but was told they did not have a discount code for the 20% at that time. They told me that I would have to call when I arrived home to have the discount applied.
As a side note, they told me that they found out about the discount offer the same time we did. When the Captian made the announcement.
Later that day, we received the letter in our room, and I went back to the future cruise desk to ask if I would need to cancel what I booked. I was again told that I would just need to call when I arrived home and it would be applied.
Today I called and was told that the discount did not apply to bookings done on board. I then asked if that meant I could now book another cruise with the 20% discount. I was told that the reservation system shows the 20% discount being applied to my onboard booking even though it was not. Neither he nor his supervisor could help me. I was told I needed to email guest communications.
There are so many moving parts to this and I can understand the confusion. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case you will fall into the same boat as me. No pun intended. You may want to call if you booked onboard as I did.
I will most likely call a second time to speak to someone different before going the email route.
