Fantastic Phone Call...

I just got a phone call from Disneycruise line saying that they have upgraded our room from cat. 9 to a cat. 6 for our June 4th West coast. We already had a guaranteed room number and everything. I checked on line and the room has already been switched. We are so happy to have a veranda because this is our first cruise. Has this ever happenend to anyone else?
 
Congratulations, you lucky duck :banana: , you! We weren't so lucky but had the time of our lives, nevertheless.

If DCL called directly, I'd guess the OP booked with DCL and not a TA. Otherwise the TA would've been the one providing the good news instead of DCL.

I booked it online with DCL. I looked around, but no one was offering a discount on West coast. We booked about a three weeks ago because my son had a seizure and was in the hospital and it was a pretty close call. Since everything turned out fine, thank god, we decided that we all needed something to make us forget and booked it. Thanks for congrats. This type of stuff never happens to me. I am truly grateful. :banana:
 
It sounds like the pixie dust is well deserved in your case!!! How exciting!!! It really doesn't happen alot so enjoy! I hope that you & your family have a very relaxing & Magical cruise.
 
I checked my reservation on line this week for June 9 cruise, and was very surprised to see my room # had changed. It still said category 8, but the new room is actually a category 5 - with Veranda. So, needless to say - very happy here. I called DCL to confirm and yes, we were upgraded!

TravelingJen......I hate to be the bearer of bad news.....DCL gave me an upgrade to a cat. 6, 4 sailings ago and now I HAVE TO BOOK A CAT. 6 all the time...... :rotfl2:

According to my TA (last year when she booked this all for us on the first day): DCL wouldn't allow group rates on the "special itinerary" cruises (repo and west coast cruises) so no TA was able to book group rates .. whatever DCL offers directly to the consumer is pretty much what a TA can offer.
 
Congratulations on your upgrade!!!!

We had same scenario for our January Eastern Magic. We DID book with a TA but it was DCL that called us with the surprise.

I keep checking and hoping. It would make a great way to start our cruisin' habit...but with only two weeks until we sail, I'm not holding out much hope. We'll have bunches of fun anyway! :mickeybar :lovestruc
