It's been a long time since we returned from our last trip - last June, but I wanted to share my experience with the CMs at Disney. My 3 yo son is generally very healthy, but has gotten croup in the past. While we were at Disney last year, he woke up at 1:00 am, unable to breath well, and very panicky. We tried everything we had in the past, steam, fresh air, water, but he kept getting worse and worse. I was freaking out, so we brought him downstairs to the lobby, and asked them for medical attention. I assumed the EMTs would come, help him out, and leave, but when they arrived, they checked him out, and whisked us to the hospital in the ambulance. Not what I had expected from our vacation!!! I was terrified, but ds ended up being okay, after some breathing treatments and steriods. However, the doctor told us to keep him inside the next day (at Disney World!!!) because the humidity would irritate it. We were so upset, as the next day was our last full day there. However, when we got back to the All Star Sports Resort, the woman at the desk had gathered some toys for ds, and they also reimbursed us for the taxi ride back. In addition, the next day, they came up to the room with gifts for all of us, as well as a wheelchair, free of charge. We cried, they were so accomodating. We went to Pleasure Island and Disney Quest that evening, and the next day had use of the wheelchair for our last half day at the parks. I was so, so grateful to them, I tell everyone that story (not for the pity, but as an example of how they go out of their way to give you a magical vacation).
It has made me love Disney even more!!!!!
