We are going to Disney in Oct. :cool1: and I have a question about the Fantasmic show. In the past we always did the dinner/show. But when I made my dinner reservations for Chef Mickey, they told me I had to call in a month to make the dinner/show reservation for Fantasmic :confused3 Okay, so I waited a month, then when I did call they were all booked up for the dinner/show! :crazy2: . They had nothing open for not even a dinner at Hollywood and Vine, Brown Derby or Mam Rosatis! So I called back a half hour later to tlak to someone else and they got me in to the 50 Nifty but we would have to wait in line for the Fantasmic show. Now our ressies are for 6:35 and the show is at 8. I plan on getting to the restaurant early in case they can take us early. How long would we have to wait in line for Fantasmic? They told me between an hour and an hour and half! Could I send my DH in line and have him wait and save us seats? Or do we all have to walk in together? Help!

:paw: I've never had to queue as such but normally we go in about 45-60 mins before the show, that way we can more or less choose our position in the amphitheatre.I've yet to see anyone turned away but the later you are ,the less choice there is & if there is a few of you then the less likely you will all get sat together. if your Ressies are at 6:35 ,I would say that you're probably looking at 60 mins from being seated to paying the bill....I think that you're cutting it a bit fine...You could send DH ahead early but he would hardly be enjoying his meal! :rotfl: If the whole point of the Ressies was to get seating in the Amphitheatre, then I would probably cancel & either eat earlier at the Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time or choose counter service.

Yes, you will need to get there on the early side. We went in November last year and did not to the package, came in maybe 30 or 40 minutes before the show and we got stuck all the way to the far left side. Saw the show fine but, it took forever to file out of the theater with tired kids and being a bit freaked by strangers in my personal space, that part would have been nice to avoid. There are really no bad seats for the show but, do try to get maybe half way down just to the right of center stage. This way you are kinda centerd but, still significantly ahead of 3/4 of the crowd. Your names for the resaurants were so funny...Momma Rositas and 50 Nifty...hee,hee, hee. You Do know its Momma Melrose and Fifties Prime Time Cafe right?!?!?! Have a great trip!

We were there this past Sunday and walked into the 9 pm Fantasmic at 10 minutes of 9 and got seats. I wouldn't worry about it. Try to get there at least 20 minutes beforehand if possible. But we didn't and we still got seats in the rear of the theater on the right side but closer to the center. They were great seats. Some people who came in after us did not get seats however, so I think we were among the last ones to get seated.

My 2 Princesses.. I was also comtemplating how far in advance to get in line for Fantasmic (Shooby Doo..'queue as such'.... :confused3 made me look to see where you were from. Kinda gave it away you weren't from this side of the pond!)

Not sure what I'm going to do with 3 DS's for 60 minutes in line, but they really want to see it again.

Last time we did the dinner and show package and then walked forever, it seemed, uphill just to sit for a long time. It ended up not being crowded at all and I wondered why I bothered with the package. (Nov' 03)

This time, we have the Free Dining Package so I'm not planning on eating in MGM at all, since the Fantasmic Package is not covered.

Oh well, guess I can quiz the little darlings on what they want to do the next day or what they've liked so far and why.

If you get there an hour ahead of time, you won't be waiting in line. We have gotten there 1-1 1/2 hours early and had our choice of seats. At about an hour before show time, more people start coming in, I have seen lines to get in, but that seems to be more like20-25 mins before the show starts (when I went to the bathroom, I saw a line). There are kiosks and snacks inside the amphitheater. We usually go early find a seat and enjoy SITTING as opposed to WALKING (MGM is usually our 3-4 day into the trip, feet are tired).
Amyality - I would think if you sit towards the back of the amphitheater in the section nearest the entrance, you'd have less crowding on the way out. We just kind of waited the crowds out because we were all the way up front.

We are going in Jan 2006 and I think there will be only the 7 or 7:30 show then. I have been trying to decide if we should do a package (H&V)or just eat at the 50's cafe (I have always wanted to try). If we did do the 50's cafe and there is only one show, what do you guys think 60 min ahead?

If you show up at least 20-30 minutes in advance, you'll probably get a seat. Might not be the "perfect" seat but you'll be able to enjoy the show.

I know you're going in October and the crowds are less, but they don't offer two nightly showings of Fantasmic in October. I booked the Fantasmic Dinner package for my October trip and for the night we are going there was only one reservation left for Hollywood & Vine. So, the show may fill up.

I would not go any later than 1 hour before the show. The 10 or 20 minute reports are from times of year when they have 2 shows a night. There is only one per night in October. In October there will be extra people on a lot of nights because there are sooo many MNSSHP nights (MK closes at 6, so why not hop over to MGM for the show...).
