We have never done fantasmic! Before, it was closed for refurb on our last trip and I didn't know about it on the trip prior to that. Anyhow, how are the viewing areas? I can't see spending money on a dinning package if I can get a decent view with a FP. We are a family of 6 so it adds up fast! When we saw WOC we had really bad view and didn't enjoy the show at all. Is it set up like WOC with different colours? What colour is better?

The F! FP viewing areas are set up with three different colored FPs: Blue, Green, and Yellow. There spots within each viewing that offer an excellent view and spots that offer an obstructed view. In terms of "better" it's not entirely clear cut. Some folks really like Green because it includes the PotC bridge, but there are only a very few FPs each show in that color area. Yellow is probably next "best" color and then Blue, but that does not mean the worse viewing spots in Yellow are better than the best viewing spots in Blue.

F! has one distinct advantage over WoC. Much of the show is slightly elevated, so you don't have to see the water to see half of the show like you do with WoC. So even further back in the viewing areas you'll still be able to see a lot of the show (that does not mean that you'll see the full show because some things are low(ish) to the water, e.g., the princesses on the rafts). I dislike the viewing areas for WoC because I have trouble seeing over the people in front of me, so I feel like I only see half of the show (the mist screen projections and the water when it's shot into the sky). So, F! is "better" in that way, but like anything, you won't get the full effect of the show if you can't see over the people in front of you.

We pulled a fast pass for fantasmic on a friday a couple weeks ago 30 minutes after opening and got the yellow section for the first show. We didn't show up for our section until 15 minutes before the show and were in the last row of yellow. The people in front part of yellow could sit. We were standing and had a mostly unobstructed view.
