Okay, I may be new to the forum, but I just found out 1 thing disney did that seriously made me mad. I just read to make room for their "American Idol Experience", Disney has cut the Hollywood Studio's show Fantasmic to only a couple days a week. Who else does this infuriate?

don't care really.
its not like they are cutting it out completely.

Aww, did they really?
Wow.
Fantasmic > American Idol
American Idol isn't even disney, is it? :confused3

Really?

I had heard that they had done it due to the economy and decreased attendance to the parks, not because of the American Idol thing. It seems like they're cutting down on a lot because of that. :guilty:

They cut Fantasmic! down to a couple days a week awhile ago. The change doesn't have anything to do with Idol coming in, though. There were other factors, including manipulating park attendance, which can be seen when they have it showing every night during heavier attendance periods. But to answer your question, no, it does not make me happy.

-shrug- they also cut spectro magic to only a few days a week, which i think is silly but whatev.

i honestly think that fantasmic needs an update anyway, its a little too...corny for my tastes.

aww that stinks but at least they're not like totally getting rid of it.

that would make me realllyyyyy mad

They cut it down because of money. The economy affects Disney too. That many fireworks is expensive. And attendance decreased. They actually have only been having it 2 nights a week for a few months, so I dont think that it was caused by American Idol.

And Melissa, American Idol isnt Disney but since they try to incorporate everything Hollywood in the park, it only makes sense to put American Idol in. Who Wants to be a Millionaire wasnt Disney either.

OH! now it makes more sense now that you put it that way. :teeth:

i think putting the american idol attraction in there also magnifies the "where dreams come true" slogan, you know? aside from the obvious hollywood reference.

At least WWTBAM was ABC which is owned by Disney. I find it kind of funny that they put in an attraction into the park that, because it is a product of Fox, is in competition with Disney owned programs. I don't know, it just tickles my funny bone.

Yeah, they did it to save money, not because of American Idol. The theatre is always full everytime, so is that going to be a problem? Well... not as many people are going to the parks, so that might help with the crowds to the show. Im not sure, anyone seen it recently? Im not that big of a fan of Fantasmic, so I dont care too much.

Oh no, the ampetheatre is still jam packed. In fact, on the days they're showing it, they're allowing people in two hours before the show which is increased from the hour and a half they used to allow. On some days we're hearing reports that all spots are taken 45 minutes before the show even starts.
