My DH and I are planning on doing Fantasmic with a meal. Any suggestions on which meal to plan for this?

I wouldn't choose Brown Derby unless its a place your really wanted to eat at. The Fantasmic perk alone isn't worth 2TS.

We chose Hollywood & Vine. Our 5yo was very comfortable there and very engrossd in the kids activity sheet. We had a good meal, nothing special and probably not looking to return. More of a been there done that syndrome. I will compliment Brenda our server though, she did a great job.

Mama Melrose didn't appeal to us as vegetarians. I thought the variety of a buffet was a better fit for us. However, read the reviews/comments and decide for yourself. Some love it, others didn't care for it at all. Same will be said for H&V. I have no problem suggesting H&V, just don't have any special expectations for the food. There is plenty to chose from, its hot and fresh and tasty, just not special or memorable.

There's really no one place that appeals to everyone:scratchin --best to pick one then decide if it is a keeper. For us, H & V was horrific:scared: poor refill/plate clearing service, tables EXTREMELY close together, buffet unappealling--it felt like we were eating in an expensive school cafeteria:sad1: Mama's is one of our family faves--we eat there twice every trip:thumbsup2 . We'll be trying HBD this summer and have high hopes. One of our disney bus drivers ranked it in the top 5 of any World eatery for his tastes and it's been somewhere I've wanted to eat for a long time but waited until DS and DD "grew up".

H&V didn't appeal to us at all, and bad reviews haven't helped. We'll be eating at Mama Melrose later on in the trip, but for the Fantasmic Package we've chosen the Hollywood Brown Derby.

To us, the menu looks really tasty, and it's been having really good reviews of late. The night we will be dining, it will be EMH till 1am, so HBD will be a nice lull in the madness of MGM hopefully :)

We're eating at H&V--the only time left and only restaurant with an opening when we booked. I guess experiences can differ for each person--the last time we went we had a great meal. The restaurant was clean and the food was fresh and good. We were a good mix of adults and children and everyone enjoyed what they ate. I wanted to try Mama Melrose but there were no slots available.

FWIW if it were just me and my husband we would try for MM or HBD.

Thanks everyone! My DH wants to try the Brown Derby, so that is what we'll
probably go ahead and do. As was suggested we will try it as a one time experience and then decide if we will be eating there again.:confused3
