A couple questions about the fantasmic wheelchair section: will we be able to keep our party off 9 together? Doors it fill up? How's early should we get there? Does everyone get to sit? Thank you!

Since there is limited space it is unlikely they will allow all 9 of you in the area. They usually allow the person in the wheelchair and one other person. As to seating, the seating would be on the ground same as other area.
I don't work for Disney, but I'm going to say no to this. It is going to be difficult to keep a party of 9 together anywhere without arriving very early.
If you are looking for standby, I would suggest at least 1.5 hr in advance. We walked past that area yesterday and CM were putting up the ropes around 8:30 pm. The standby section was already full. CM were telling guests that, if they couldn't squeeze forward to be within the ropes once they were set up, the guests would have to find someplace else to view Fantasmic.
I think doing a Rancho del Zocalo Fantasmic Dining package ($35/person) is your best bet. Your party of 9 can stay together, you can stay seated (on the ground) for Fantasmic, and you get a great view. Plus, you get a nice lunch. CM start seating dining package guests around 7:45 pm. One can show up 5 min before the show starts, but for a party of 9 that wants to sit together, I would arrive on the earlier side.
