Fantasmic to Illuminations on same night?

On our last day we're going to be in Epcot. Is it possible to walk to MGM to see Fantasmic at 7.30 and then walk back to Epcot in time for Illuminations?

I believe there's a path between the two parks, but can't find the details. Can anyone tell me how far it is and where the path is located?

We do this every year on our last night of our trip. If the line for the boat is not long then we take it. Usually by the time we get out of Fantasmic the line is long and we just walk. It is a great way to end our trip.
