Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland

Just wanted to report that I booked the dessert party for June 8. I called a couple days after bookings came available and the phone CM said they had plenty of availability for both showings.

I am seeing the 10:30pm showing of F! on Sunday...I was able to change my tix from Sat night to Sun night becuz a friend is joining me on Sat night but does not want to see F!...the CM told me, as of Monday, there were plenty of seats available for the late shows over the weekend....

Here is my question: I will be at DL this weekend with a "walking boot" and a ECV...I plan to watch the fireworks at 9:25pm...after the fireworks wait about 15mins for the crowds to thin out and then head to F!...since I'm in an ECV, is there a special area for ECVs??...or can I just park the ECV and then walk to my seat??? Thanks for the help...

OK, not sure what you are asking. Especially when you talk about "seats". The only seats for Fantasmic are in the dessert/reserved area. Is that what you are asking about?

We are planning to see F! and Magical Fireworks on Saturday. I have a 3 yr old so I plan to stake out a seating spot in section 3 early for the first show. Will we be able to see the Magical fireworks from there? Is there a better spot in section 3 to see Tinkerbell and Dumbo flying? I heard they fly, right? Thank you in advance!

You may be able to barely see Tink and Dumbo thru the trees. I would not get my hopes up. You will not see much if anything. Mostly you will see the fireworks.

Thanks for the great info, HydroGuy! I think I've got it straight, but just want to confirm:

- We've never seen Fantasmic!, and are going to take DS(6) for the first time on Sunday, 6/7. We are planning for the 9:00pm show, with the dessert package.

- Assuming we line up early enough and have our choice of seats, would the first row all the way to the right (that's closest to center, correct?) be the best choice?

- The fireworks are immediately following the show. If I understand correctly, we will be able to see the fireworks from our seats...but will miss some of the "special effects" parts of the show. Is that right?

Thanks!

Yes to everything. The best dessert section seats are first row on the right. With a 6 year old I would get first row as far to the right as possible based on what place you are in the seat assignment queue.

The fireworks show in June will be Magical and you will not miss very much watching it from the F! seats. You will not see Tink or Dumbo very well if at all, but other than that you will see most of it. The RDCT fireworks show stopped for the season in early May and that show cannot be experienced properly from the F! area.

Just wanted to say these tips worked great! We saw the second show last night. Headed over right after Magical and were able to get very good spots in the seated area. Have to say, on the whole, I've been way more impressed with the DL crowd control than WDW.

We are going to DLR this Thursday, my curiosity got the best of me and I called about Fantasmic reservations. Lo and behold they had space for us at the 9pm show the night of our 10th anniversary!! How could I refuse ;)

My question is, we are also going to the Napa Rose Chef's Counter that night, the 5:30 seating. Do you think we will make it out & over to Fantasmic in time to pick decent seats, or will we be in the third row for sure?

ETA: Ok, just re-read some earlier posts & info...I guess we will be getting whatever seats are left since you've said ppl start queuing at 6pm for the dessert seats.

Yes, that is pretty much it!

Is it still 30 days to book the dessert seating? Or can I do it at 60 days with the rest of our dining reservations?

Question. We will be there July 6-8 if we did the desert package for the first show could we stay there and have a great view of the fireworks? The schedule says it's the "Magical" display. Or is it like Wishes at WDW and do we need to be in front of the castle?

I would not call the view of the fireworks "great". But for Magical it is not a bad view. You will not see Tink or Dumbo - or at best will barely see them thru the trees - but otherwise you will see mos to of the fireworks.

We did the dessert package on our December trip. It was really nice to just sit there after the show and watch the fireworks without fighting the crowds to get over to Main Street. It was a nice experience for seeing the fireworks a second time that trip. I would not, however, give up watching on Main Street. I would try to catch them there on another night. Honestly, it's just fireworks up in the air. Not the same as fireworks over a castle. Of course, in December we at least got the extra benefit of seeing it snow in the area during the show.

There are four different fireworks show at DLR and IMO Remember Dreams Come True is far from "just fireworks up in the air".

Whether watching fireworks from the the F! viewing area is a good idea depends a lot on which show you are talking about. :)

Magical during the summer is nothing special and IMO watching it from the F! area you do not miss much. But I do not think Magical has much to begin with.
