Do these take place in the same area? The night we're planning to be there Fantasmic starts at 7:30 with SWaGS at 8, but the park is supposed to close at 8 so do they just usher everyone out when it's over?
And are crowds a real hassle (like leaving MK after fireworks) with two shows, or is it a bit lighter?

We've only attempted fireworks at MK in previous years because my kids weren't old enough to stay up several nights in a row without the next day being miserable! So our goal this time is to fit in nighttime shows for three parks.

Nothing compares to trying to leave MK after a firework show, that's a nightmare.

Both HS shows aren't too far apart, but not in the same area. You can stay and linger some after 8 but the rides will be closed. Mainly everyone will be leaving. I usually cut through the stores or stay on the sidewalks. But leaving HS right after a show isn't too bad

It remains to be seen if they will keep the 8PM closing time.
Even if they do, it is far from unusual for shows to begin even as late as 30 AFTER the park's "closing time."

When the last show is over, "ushering out" is not really required, as guests naturally start leaving the park on their own.
Some linger awhile, but that's just fine, too.

Thanks! And a follow up - would it be better to get a decent seat for one over the other, or will it be easy to mosey over to SWaGS? We'll be with my mother who is renting a wheelchair, although truthfully she's not as big a SW fan as the rest of the family so if she can't see well she won't care as much as the rest of us.

Fantasmic is a half hour show, so by the time you're leaving the stadium. SWaGS will already be starting. This is done intentionally since the viewing area for SWaGS isn't very big. (Also, there isn't any seating for SWaGS.)

We left HS last week after SW fireworks. We didn't run out but followed the crowd. We stayed BC so by the time we got to the boat launch we knew we weren't getting on the next 2 boats so we walked back to our hotel. I don't know how bad the bus lines looked as I was focused on finding the walking path. We got to the fireworks area 10 minutes prior and had a great view from off to the side.

Did you see Fantasmic too? I'm still trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B easily (or point F to point SW!). I suppose if we sit in the back for Fantasmic we may be able to slip out more quickly at the end and then can just find a spot to the side as you suggest.

No,
Thanks!

No, we didn't. We were on rides up until we got there. We sat at the tables by Min and bills restaurant. There were still some tables in the back after it started. We were also content with watching HEA off to the side too though. I would rather have a side view then scout out a spot and be squished. My 13yo hates those crowds too.

We tried this last week. By the time we got to the Star Wars fireworks, they had started. It was very crowded so we stayed to the side. You can't see it well, buildings trees and people block it. I would pick one or the other.

I think I've just figured out that SWaGS is in the Animation Courtyard, right? so that's quite a bit of walking and wheelchair pushing even with no crowds.
Bummer. Well, since we've never seen Fantasmic we probably need to do that one.

Nope.
SWaGS prime viewing is in front of the Chinese Theater (Great Movie Ride.)

(The "Animation Courtyard" is between #5 and #12 & 13 on the map below.)

Also trying to decide between SW fire works and Fantasmic. We're planning one evening in HS on our trip in March 2018. All of our family really enjoy Star Wars (DH and DS big fans) but I'm only 5'2" and the kids will be 8 and 10 years old, so not sure if we would be able to see very much. We don't want to do the dessert package because it's too expensive, especially since the 10 year old would need to pay adult price and she has food allergies, so likely can't eat most of the desserts (and I don't want to pay $80 for fruit, which would likely be the alternative they would give her). I think the fantasmic viewing area would be better for us, but if there's a good way for shorties to view SW fire works, we'd prefer that show. We have seen Fantasmic in DLR several years ago, and I've read that DLR's is a better version.
