Yes. you are but if you sit too close the camera might get wet if there is any sort of breeze towards you if you sit too close. We have the whole thing on tape and it came out really good.

We have it too. Don't use nightshot mode if you have it. It makes everything look like you are wearing night vision glasses.

Try to sit in the center and back a little bit ( higher ) not only because of the water, but sometimes there is so much going on, if you are too close, you won't catch it all on video.
