Can any one tell me what time the shows are? (Dec) ? Is it worth it to try to book a dinner package?

i can't tell you when the show times are for december and i can't comment on booking a dinner package, but from what i've heard, it's worth it. you get to sit in a section that's hold off for those who do the dinner package. this way, you don't have to worry about getting there and not finding a place to sit. also, the restaurants that do the dining package are very good. my fave is the 50's Prime Time Cafe. i think they do the dining package. i'm not sure. but that's something to look in to.

Here is some info on the package from www.allearsnet.com

What is the Fantasmic! Dinner Package?

The Fantasmic! Dinner Package includes dinner at one of the participating Disney-MGM Studios restaurants and reserved seating in the Fantasmic! amphitheater. As of this writing, only Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, and Hollywood & Vine are participating.

This means that instead of waiting in line for 60-90 minutes outside the theater, you can walk right up to the theater 30-45 minutes before show time, (no waiting in line!) and still have a seat.

Is there a charge for the package?

There is no additional charge for the package itself. However, the package, which includes a fixed price dinner and the Fantasmic! seating pass, MUST be guaranteed at the time of booking with a credit card, and a $10 cancellation fee applies if not cancelled at least 48 hours beforehand.

Prices for the fixed price dinners are as follows:

Brown Derby $36.99 adult/$10.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity. Your choice of appetizer, soup, or salad; entree; and dessert from menu. Items include Spice Grilled Filet Mignon, Pan-Seared Grouper, and The Original Cobb Salad. Adult beverages NOT included. Child's meal includes beverage.

Mama Melrose $28.99 adult/$10.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity. Your choice of one wood-fired flatbread to share from Mama's rustic on-stage kitchen, as well as family style salad, and choice of entree. Dessert: Mama's signature Fantasmic! Tiramisu. Adult beverages NOT included. Child's meal includes beverage.

Hollywood & Vine $22.99 adult/$10.99 child (3-9) not including admission, tax, and gratuity (no characters). All you care to eat buffet. Choose from a number of selections including; oven-roasted Prime Rib, Citrus Baked Chicken, Pan-seared Salmon, and Stir-Fry Noodles with Sesame. Also includes fresh salads and build your own ice cream/dessert bar. Adult beverages NOT included. Child's meal includes beverage.

All packages include a special pass for seating at that night's Fantasmic! and dinner at the restaurant chosen.

Report to your restaurant 10 minutes before your Fantasmic! Dinner Package PS, and you'll receive your special Fantasmic! seating pass at that time. Theme park admission is NOT included.

Can I Use the Magic Your Way Dining Plan with the Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Yes, as of September 2, 2005, the Magic Your Way Dining Plan can be used to purchase a Fantasmic Dinner Package. You can also get the Fantasmic Dinner Package if you have the Magic Your Way Premium Package or, starting in 2006, the Platinum Package.

Do I have a reserved seat?

No, only the section itself is reserved for those with the dinner package. Within the reserved section, seating is on a first come-first served basis, so if you want your choice of seats, you should arrive early.

How do I book the Fantasmic! Dinner Package?

You can book the package now for dates 90 days in advance by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE.

What if I have already made reservations in advance at one of those restaurants for dinner?

That Advance Reservation is distinct from the Fantasmic! Dinner Package. If you want the Fantasmic! Dinner Package you need to book it specifically.

Where is the reserved section?

The reserved section is all the way over on the right side of the theater - the Witch section. The amphitheater is set up so that there really are no *bad* seats, except you will get wet if you sit in the first few rows.

Where do I enter the theater?

Do NOT enter the Fantasmic! line that starts at the amphitheater's Sunset Boulevard entrance.

Present your Fantasmic! Dinner Package voucher 30 minutes prior to showtime at the Fantasmic! sign located on Hollywood Boulevard next to Oscar's Super Service (inside the turnstiles at the front of the park). Guests arriving less than 30 minutes prior to showtime will be offered standing room only, if available.

How early do I have to get to the theater?

You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts. There are enough packages available that the Reserved section gets fairly filled up, so if you want a better seat selection within the reserved section, plan to arrive more than 30 minutes before show time. Even though you still need to arrive early, you do NOT have to wait in line like those without reserved seating - you can just walk straight to the reserved section and sit down.

What if that night's show is cancelled?

According to the policies of the Fantasmic! Dinner Package, if the show is cancelled because of weather your pass is invalid, and you will NOT be issued a new one.

Is it worth doing?

If you dislike waiting in line, or have little ones who can't tolerate the waiting, the Fantasmic! Dinner package is probably worth it. The reserved seating area affords a fine view of the show, which is very entertaining.

The show times are out for December and here is the link

Just click on the date to see Fantasmic times.

Not sure about the showtimes, but if you are going during the off season in Dec, then it's usually 7pm or 8pm. The dining package always seemed like a waste to me, the seats aren't that good. And if it's an off season, then you should get good seats any time.

Thanks for the info... The Osburne Family Light Show is from 6-7 and Fantasmic at 7. Is it possible to see both in December? And the park closes at 7???

p.s. Does anyone actually have a good time on their trips after stressing over the preplanning? I've been on dozens of vacations and not preplanned as much as for this one! (Vegas last month was a piece of cake and we saw 4 shows!)

p.s.s. REALLY am looking forward to seeing the MOUSE!!

I wouldn't do the Dinner Package for three reasons:

1. In December, you don't have the problem finding seats that you do in July (unless you are going for Christmas.)

2. The seats reserved for package people are over on the side. If you list the sections as "Good, Better, Best," you'll be in the "good" section.

3. If it rains, you lose your money.

A planned trip is way more fun than an unplanned trip, but every trip to WDW is great! You'll have a lot of fun! :)
