fantasmic show with disabled child

In April when we went to Disney, we got the GAC for my daughter who has to have a wheelchair type stroller. We did not do Fantasmic because it was too late. We are going again next Dec. Has anyone with a disabled child done fantasmic? I was wondering where they seat you. I know for the majority of the other shows we were put right up front. Did you have to wait in line or could you go either the backway or fastpass?

I believe Fantasmic has wheelchair seating in the back, at least.

Yes wheelchair seating is the very back row but you can still see very well.

Better to be in the back row as it is a extremely large cattle call walking out. A very long walk and very crowded.

I was in the back row with a child in a wheelchair a few years back. It was horrid. There was SRO and people were actually sitting on the arms of the child's chair! They actually got angered when I asked them to please not do that.

Not something I'd want to repeat.

I use a wheelchair and used the handicapped seating. It was awesome and I have no complaints.

We had a fine time - been there twice. I would tell CMs immediately if anyone tried to sit on the arms of my son's chair.

SueOKW, for real. I've had to do that before, but to at WDW. A simple, "Get your paws off me" can work wonders. A wheelchair is a part someone's personal space, for crying out loud.

I love Fantasmic and would never miss it. Is my favorite show at WDW. I think the wheelchair sitting is excellent -tho I've never been at the front rows, so I can't compair.

If I remember well, during the show the walkway is not busy, and the wheelchairs are not that far from the exit, so I think leaving would be no problem. Also, there are usually several CMs in the area, so I'm sure they would help you.

The exit is at the top of the theater which is also where the wheelchair seating is so it is very easy to get out if need be.

I have been to the show twice and got there an hour early both times. I use an ECV and I did not have any trouble either time, but I guess alot depends on the size of the crowd for that showing. Sorry couldn't be more help.

if you have a choice, sit in the back of the center section. if not available, try to sit "centered" on the left or right section. try to avoid sitting in between two sections. it's just easier to face only one "screen" than to sit between two.

When it first opened, the SRO area was right behind the people using wheelchairs. We had someone stand their toddler on the headrest of DD's wheelchair one time.

The last few years, they have made sure to have a wide aisle between the last row and the SRO (I believe they stopped doing the 'packed' SRO after 9/11; at least that's when we remember it ending). The SRO area now is actually a fenced area behind the aisle.

There are a couple of wheelchair spots in the front row of Fantasmic. If you want them, get there very early, ask about them and be prepared to get wet. The spray from the screens (made up of water mist) that they show the movies on will blow a fine shower of water on you if the wind is blowing that way. Also, you may get splashed by some of the water effects.

Most of the wheelchair seating is along the back of the theater. There are some spots where many wheelchairs can be parked in a row without any seats between them. There are also spots with a seat for another person next to the wheelchair spot. The rest of your party can sit in the 2 rows in front of the back row.

There are no 'bad' seats in the amphitheater.
When we have not been with DD in her wheelchair, we have sat further down. One advantage of sitting in the top row is that you get a good overview of the whole show, not just what is right in front of you.
If some of your party want to sit closer to the front, they could do that and then come back to the rear and wait with the ECV parties to get out. We usually let most of the crowd leave and then go out. MUCH easier that way and we actually end up getting out at about the same time as we would have. But, instead of being in a crowd of people, we are in a manageable little bunch of people.
