We are going to DW in January and I was thinking about seeing Fantasmic! but I'm not sure if it is right for this trip. :confused3 DS will be a month shy of his 3rd birthday and DD will be 4. Do you think they are old enough for this show?

Thanks for any tips.

I think they will be fine. It's not scary. The only thing that might be a concern is the wait. You usually have to get in early to get a seat, maybe an hour before the show. If they can sit that long you'll be fine. The show is "Fantasmic", I mean "Fantastic". Enjoy!!

I think it depends on the kid! My 6 yr old was scared. We had to keep telling her over and over again it was only mickey's dream, dreams aren't real blah blah blah over and over and over again with the dragon the fire.. i wish we would have skipped it! She didn't cry.. but she wasn't thrilled to be there!

It totally depends on what scares or bothers them. My DD3 loved the show, everything about it, but she doesn't scare easily and was cheering Mickey on to beat down the villains. My DD5 hated the show and my DH had to take her out because she got so upset. She thinks about things too much and was way too scared when Malificent came out, but she loves thrill rides. My DS 15mths at the time was ok but didn't like the noise.

We are trying to decide if we should go again this year when they are 8, 6 and 4. I think the older 2 would be ok but my DS hates fireworks so he would probably freak.

If your kids can handle scary and noisy things then they should be fine but it's really more of a personality thing than an age thing.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, it really helped in making the decision. My luck one child will be frightened while the other is having a meltdown while waiting - double the craziness. DH said that he will do something special with the kids so my mom and I can go. :cool1:

Have a great day!

We took our 2.5 year old son in May and he loved it. I do think it depends on the child. Loud noises don't scare him and the Haunted Mansion and POTC scared him for a few seconds then he was ok.

I too think it depends on the child. Both of my kids enjoyed it. At the time of the trip they were DS 5.5 and DD 2.5. Before our trip, I had found on You Tube a video of it and they both watched it, so they were somewhat prepared for it. I know a 3 inch video is totally different than experiencing in Disney but it might help.

My girls were 4 and 7 the first time we saw it. They were a little scared. The older one doesn't like loud stuff (still doesn't at almost 13!). We just told them that Mickey wouldn't let anything bad happen. It's all Mickey Mouse Magic! My youngest loved it when all the princesses came out. She got so excited with Snow White and she yelled. . . "Snow White you are my favorite!" :cutie: The teenagers in front of us thought it was so cute! It was adorable. Those things don't happen so much anymore. Oh no, now I need a tissue . . .:sad1:
