Hi,
We are going to Disney the first week of April. I don't have a FP for Fantasmic but my daughter would like to see it one night. We have a reservation at Mama Melrose for dinner one night and I was wondering how hard it is to get a seat at Fantasmic without a FP? Is it worth going? We won't have to worry about transporation home since we can walk back to the resort.

Thanks for your help!

"Worth" is entirely subjective. But if your daughter wants to see it, go see it. It's an entertaining show.

We loved it when we saw it this post year for the first time. We strolled in 10 minutes before the show started and they had just opened up the fastpass seating of people that didn't show up. So, we got front row seats but I'm sure this was total luck.

I mean, isn't there still a dining package? Mamma Melrose used to be part of the Fantasmic! dining package...

I’ve never used a FP for Fantasmic, but I have done the dining package for this with a meal at Mama Melrose. This may be a great option for you since you are already having dinner here. I’m not sure what time you reservation is for, but if you are willing to eat earlier and convert your reservation to the Fantasmic Dining Package you will have VIP reserved seating for the show (middle section in the stands). I think the latest Mama Melrose reservation for this is around 3:30. IF that is too early you can also pick from two other restaurants that offer this package: Hollywood & Vine and The Brown Derby. I think these last two options may offer slightly later reservation times.

The show was entertaining and my family enjoyed seeing it. We are visiting again in April and are planning to see the show again. This time I didn’t get the dining package because we want to try the Sci Fi Diner. I am considering the Dessert VIP package, or trying for a FP after my first 3 FP are used.

I have read that if you arrive 45-90 min early getting a seat should not be a problem.

Thanks for all your help and info! I did try to find the dining package but the times don't really work for us. We will have to see if I can get a FP that day or maybe try and wing it.

Thanks again!

I'm not a huge fan but that's just me.
You should easily be able to get it as a 4th FP is you want.
If you want to see it then its worth waiting for.

If you show up 45 minutes early, you'll find a seat.
You can probably pick it up as a 4th FP, day of, as long as you search a few hours before the show.

You might want to see if the Fantasmic Dessert Party is available on your dates. It’s a little cheaper than the dining package. I usually do one of the packages because I won’t risk not seeing Fantasmic. It’s my absolute favorite show.

Yes. (And Mama Melrose's is still one of the choices.)

And, there is also a separate program that is a "Dessert Package."

(Although both packages share the same "reserved seating" area(s.)

You don't need FP or a dining package to see the show. If you show up 45 minutes early you'll get a great seat. If you show up 5 minutes early you'll get a not so great seat.

That seems a bit too broad to cover all situations.
On some nights, if you show up 5 min. early you may not get a seat... at all.

You're right. I've just always showed up slightly before the show (maybe not always 5 minutes but no more than 20 minutes) and never gotten shut out.

We were shut out showing up 20 min early. It was a really crowded day with only 1 show.

We knew getting shut out was a possibility, but we really wanted to see the Osborne lights. It was the last year they had that, so we were disappointed, but not surprised, to miss F!

I booked a FP for Fantasmic at like 7:30pm. But there’s are TONS of seats. Regardless of FP or not, show up a little bit early. Because even with a FP you could be at the back of the section (top of the arena).
