hey y'all!
I an one week away from finalizing my dining requests and looking for info on Fantasmic fast pass. We will be in MK two full days including the Halloween party, EPCOT one day, AK one day, and HS a day and a half.

So here goes- it will be early Oct so moderate crowds. Is it necessary to get a fast pass for Fantasmic then or is it possible to make it our 4th or 5th for the day? I don't mind giving up TSM to make it one of our original three, as we will be coming back another day. I just don't want to be limited to only three. I'm kinda going in expecting the worse case scenerio, this is our first trip since the full blown fast pass plus rollout.
How hard are things like Star Tours and Great Movie Ride to just get in stand by line?
This is always, for me, the most confusing park to plan since they have so many shows and my favorite ride- ToT and my sons's- Star Tours.

Suggestions? Fyi- I don't want to do dinner package because Sci Fi appeals to my kids more

1. Is it necessary to get a fast pass for Fantasmic then or

2. is it possible to make it our 4th or 5th for the day?

3. How hard are things like Star Tours and Great Movie Ride to just get in stand by line?

4. Suggestions? Fyi- I don't want to do dinner package because Sci Fi appeals to my kids more

1. Nope.
2. Very likely. They make thousands of them available.
3. Not difficult.

4. What a Fantasmic! FP+ will do for you is to allow you to have access to much more of the theater.

(That way you could choose to either sit in the FP+ section, OR in the Standby (Walk-up) section, whichever offers the better seats at the time of your arrival.)

As to when to arrive, I'd get to the theater 45-60 minutes before the show-time.
Map Below-
Arrows indicate the center of the seating.

Shaded areas:
(First or Only F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red= Dining Plan Reserved
Blue= FP+ Reserved
Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Plan Reserved, depending on needs

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red, Purple, Blue= FP+ Reserved
(Although much of the outer Blue will likely be used for Standby.)

If you go 45-60 mins before the show you won't need a FP. Guess how close to show starting you want to arrive. Even with a FP I wouldn't recommend arriving any less than 30 mins before show time.

I have never been in October - but we have been in February (busy Presidents Week) and in August and have always gotten into the Fantasmic show without a FP. The first time we waited on line for about 60 minutes. After that we got on line about 30 minutes before and got in. We also always got into the Great Movie Ride without a FP. I hope that helps.

Is that an entirely different entrance for dinner pkg? We used the pkg for the first time in Oct and walked up the hill with a giant mass of humanity - what I'm now assuming was the main entrance. We still got into the dinner pkg seating, but it would have been nice to walk in less of a herd if I had realized there was another way in. Where is it from the rest of the park?

If you were in a "mass of humanity," you likely arrived later than 45 min. prior to show time.

All entrances are in the same place.

Guests with FP and DP walk in via a different pathway from (but separated by a rope, side-by-side to) the walk-in standby guests.

Last week (so busy spring break time) I found Fantasmic FP+ available for a family of 4 at 7:15pm for the 8:30 show.

Not too surprising. They issue thousands of them.
We've picked up our F! FP+ on the way to the the F! theater.

(And, again, on a busy night, even with a FP+ arrive at least 45 min. early.)

For what is it worth, I just checked and there are Fantasmic FPs available for tonight.

But I see there are two shows tonight and the FPs I saw were for the second show. I didn't check to see if there were any available for the first show.

I checked and there are FPs available for the first show.
