I have switched and switched and switched and I am still confused

Is Brown Derby worth the 2 credits????
I think we would really like Hollywood and Vine but it gets so so reviews.

We are travelling with a 4 yr old boy and 1 yr old girl.

Thank you so much.

Are you specifically wanting to get the Fantasmic package? If so, there is also the Mama Melrose option. Personally, that is my pick. I tried Brown Derby before the dining package. I found the food to be overpriced. It is really not my type of food either. That is just my opinion though. I know that others like it. It is definitely the fancy food so it is a nicer restaurant.
We have done Hollywood and Vine. I am just not a big buffet person. I am not a big eater so I never feel like I get my money's worth at a buffet. I am sure that your kids would love it. I know that my kids did. Mama Melrose is my favorite out of the Fantasmic package restaurants.
I hope this helps some!

Mama Melrose would be my pick for Fantasmic package also, just because I don't think any meal is worth 2 credits. Ultimately, we ended up canceling the Fantasmic package, eating at 50's Prime Time Cafe, and had no problem getting a seat to the show 10 minutes before show time. If you are not going at a busy time, it may be easy to get a seat by walking up.

Hollywood and Vine is our favorite buffets at WDW. We are a family of six very different eaters and we all find plenty to love there. We did BD once and were not impressed (especially for the $$$) We have not done MM as Dh and I are not crazy about red sauce. At H&V there are lots of choices, seafood, meat, veggies, kid food, breads, salads, desserts, ect. It is one of the few WDW restaurants we have ever done again. JMVHO!!!

With little kids H and V is perfect. They can eat right when you get your table and many many choices. The best meals for my kids were buffets because there was always lots of fruit for them. We ate at Mama's last visit because my kids are a bit older now and it was awful. The only things the kids ate were plain pasta and ice cream--they hated the bread (crunchy and rolled in sesame seeds) and the cheese flat bread and salad has lots of gorgonzola. The server told them the sauce was hot and spicy so they wouldn't order it and it was just regular sauce. Also the meal at Mama's took well over an hour plus 15 mins waiting (and it was half empty) which wasn't great in a "quiet" place.

For the most part, I say go with what you want to try. Everybody is different.

For me personally, no, I don't think BD is worth twice as many credits. I'd go with H&V. We've eaten there a couple of times and liked it. If you want a sitdown, MM is a solid choice. We actually like it better than BD, and its still a good place for kids.

DD4 and I did H&V, which was perfect for us...she's a fruit fanatic, so she was happy, and there were several items on the buffet that I really liked - great value! DH and I did Mama Melrose's on our trip, and I just wasn't impressed - it wasn't horrible, but service was slow, food was so-so, and the hike back over the the show was not fun on a pasta-filled tummy! :rotfl:
