Fantasmic priority seating

I always agreed with this sentiment. Until last year. The problem with the late showing is...well...it is late. After a day at DLR folks and especially kids have a hard time being alert and enjoying the show is harder.

Last year we did the dessert seating for the first show and I can tell you the experience is much better. One, we were fresher at 9PM than the late show. Plus we were comfortable. My then 15 year-old, who had seen F! 4-5 times previously told me after that he had never understood the story before last year. I chalk that up to the late hour we had seen it before, and less comfortable seating.

:wizard:

Oh so true, how is the trip going.

I didn't know you could pick up your tickets from the DLR hotel you are staying at. That makes it more convenient. Does that mean I don't need to wait in line to pick the seats? Or is that line still there? If I recall correctly, I waited at a little stand kind of by the Haunted Mansion. We waited at about 5pm and was 3rd in line. Thank you!

My DH and I did the early show Fantasmic dessert last week and really enjoyed it overall! We were in the 2nd row, and unfortunately, the family in front of us were all rather tall/big individuals who all sported some type of head gear, i.e. Mickey Ears, Mad Hatter, etc. and were completely oblivious that there was anyone behind them, so we were kind of bobbing back and forth in order to see well. However, we could still see fairly well, but not the child in the family beside us who had to move to the far side in order to see past them. I think in the future if the front row was not available I would choose the back row so that we could stand if need be.

Another bonus to the first seating is you can remain seated until after the fireworks is over, so it's kind of like a 2 for 1 deal!:)

We have done the Fantasmic reserved seating thing 3 times over the past 10 years, once on the balcony and twice on the river. We have never showed up early and always took whatever seat we were assigned. I've never considered wasting precious vacation time standing in line or having to be at a certain spot 1 or 2 hours before the darn show even starts. The back row is fine with me even if I have to stand. What gets me is that of those thousands of people waiting to see these shows, 75.% of them have probably seen the show at least a 100 times. Once every couple of years is fine with me.

Unfortunately, you still do have to wait in line to pick your seats......

It is convenient to get your tickets at the hotel but alas seat assignments are still done on the night of.

Just did this last Thursday. I got in line at 7 and was 3rd in line. Definitely don't go at 5, that is just way too early. I was actually the first person in line for the late show. We weren't going to do the premium seating this time, but once we got to the park my husband decided he wanted to do it. We went to guest services and purchased the tickets on Tuesday for the Thursday show.
