Has anyone ever partaken in the Fantasmic Premium Viewing w/Dessert Sampler? How much are the tickets? Does the dessert come from French Market Restaurant or Cafe Orleans? Is this worth the money?

We're trying to avoid having to camp out for 3-4 hours ahead of time with a 4 yr old. We've never seen Fantasmic so not opposed to paying a little bit more to guarantee seating. We are going in mid-October so since I'm more than 30 days out I can't book anything yet.

Thanks in advance.

I do the Mama Melrose package. I get there about an hour ahead.
Basically you can see from anywhere but I prefer more center.

I don't do the stairs I stay up top with my scooter. I have no problem seeing.

The rest of my family go down. Once they went all the way down and they got wet. So they stay about mid point.

You go to realize most of the action is up high. Its only when they use the boats at the water level.

Why don't view at the video of the show.

Rtilner, this is disneyland...but the mama melrose is a great option for WDW! ;)

The desert option is nice, great seating (and an actual seat!) but can be pricy. I've had luck finding a spot 30 minutes before the show (during the week during summer, it was filling up about 60 minutes prior to show time Friday, but it was the first weekend night that so cal APs were able to attend so it was much more crowded) that's pretty good. The staircase that leads down to the raft loading area is half viewing area, half walkway. It doesn't fill up because I'm guessing people don't realize it's not all a walkway. I go to the bottom of the steps and can put my niece up on the wall and I can see just fine. Higher on the steps and the TSI sign can block a bit of the stage. Just an option for a shorter wait without the expense...

Ok I read Hydroguy's entire post, and I am confused on something he wrote for the reserved seating.

He wrote, "When should I arrive to get my seat assignments?

Anywhere from 6-8PM. Those who come at 6PM get the best seats... People start lining up at 6PM for seat selection and then wait until 8PM to get their seats if they want the first row of seats closer to the center. Those who show up later get second and third row."

What does this mean? How do I get the "best seat" at 6 pm but then wait til 8 pm to get my seat?? Do I have to wait in line twice?

People start lining up early at the podium before the seat selection starts. The seat selection for both the early and late show happen at the same time. Once you get your seats assigned, you don't have to stay, you can come back to the seats before your show time. You could show up closer to 8pm, but there will most likely be people who were willing to wait there for 2 hours to pick the "best" seats.

Acouple times we went in August, on a weekend, I went and checked to see what was going on about 1630 and there were already two people waiting to get their seats. You want the front row seats you have to be there early, maybe not that early, but, anyway, there were 20 + people in line by 1530.

Good luck,

Jack

There were 20+ people there an hour before there were only 2 people there??

I was planning on showing up at 6pm (ie 1800) for the 9pm show next Friday. Are you saying there will already be 20 people there by that point?

Sorry, fat fingers, by 1730.

Well, that's kind of crazy. I might be willing to pay the prices for reserved seating if I actually got that, but having to stand in line for "seat selection" for my seat that is already supposed to be reserved, and then come back to stand in line again 2 hours later to get the seat, is already a turn off!

We did it when we went. It was worth it for our first visits and the snack trays they gave us were huge! (We took one back to hotel with us.) We came by and picked our seats, then came back later for the show. It was nice.

You don't stand in line twice. You line up for seat selection and then the seats are yours unless something has changed since we did it in 2010.

There seems to be a glitch on Disneyland's website. I can't get the month (or any) view for October to display on their calendar. Aug & Sep displays, but when I try to select Oct from the drop-down or click the right-arrow button, it reverts back to the week for August. :confused3

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/accessible-calendar/month/2014-09-01/

The calendar is only updated 6 weeks out. October should be visible next week. What it's actually doing is switching to the 5 day view when you try to view past September. An error message would probably be better, but Disney just wants you to drop everything and visit in the next 5 days.

You don't have to wait in line twice...You just have to stand in line for 1.5+ hours for the front row.
If you want a front row seat, you should line up between 6-6:30. They do not begin assigning seats until 8pm.
For me, it is not worth it. You could find a good free place at 6:30 usually.

Ahhkay, now I get it. Thank you for this. I wasn't clear what he meant by line up at 6pm to get your assigned seat, leave, come back at 8pm. So the seats are assigned at 8pm and THEN you can leave (after 8pm) and come back 15 min before the show. Yea that seems a little much when you can find a free spot for free.

I think we've ruled out the dessert sampler now due to cost. It would be $170 for the 3 of us to have a folding chair in a reserved SECTION for a 23 min show.. NOT worth it!

When we did it in late July, I lined up at 7pm while the rest of the family went on rides (not everyone has to wait in line, only one person). I was first in line for the 9pm show (there was one other person ahead of me, but they were waiting for the 10:30pm show). Within 5 minutes someone else lined up behind me, and by 7:15pm there were several in line behind us. So I'm glad I didn't get there any later, but I'm also glad I didn't start lining up at 6pm.
