Hi,
I've read conflicting reports that you can use your TS credits and apply them to the dinner at either Mamma Melrose or Hollywood and Vine, and others that say no.

So...has anyone been there recently and used the TS credit?

I think it's unfair not to allow it, but hey, I'm not making the rules!

Thanks!

i just got back (literally 30 minutes ago!) we used the dining plan sunday nite at mama melrose without question or issue- she took the plan and gave us the voucher for the show.

Thanks eddieras!! I love a person who hits the DISboards after being back only 30 minutes.
Any hints on using the plan or what great places not to miss if you have the dining plan??? (I find some of the restaurant reports outdated and we haven't been to WDW for 3 LONG years- August here we come!)

here's my quick report- we tracked what we would have spent - 2 adults, 2 kids-- we would have spent $765 in food - but spent $450 on the plan. now granted we may not have eaten all we were entilted too- but even if you knock off $20 a day on desserts you may not have gotten if not for the plan, you can see you'd still come out way ahead.

i can't see how this isn't a bargain-- nice to be in a park and get a water or ice cream without thinking twice. also used it for FDP at MM without question.

Just back also...on Wed. May 11 we used the Magic Your Way Dining Plan with the Fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood and Vine. I made reservations for the package knowing it was a gamble but hoping they might accept the dining plan. There was no problem. I just asked the waitress if we could use the dining plan when she came to explain the buffet. She said yes and gave us the voucher. It worked out great!

Also, a tip--- I planned Fantasmic for a Wednesday night, knowing that Magic Kingdom late night extra magic hours were for that night. I thought Fantasmic might be less crowded. We ended up having an unusual situation. It poured down rain late in the afternoon and during dinner. We stayed around hoping Fantasmic would still happen. It did with just a little bit of drizzle. The park cleared out though which was great. When we came into the amphitheater they directed us into the middle section about row 10 at 8:30. They didn't even sit people in the package section! We had fantastic seats! However, I still think this might be a good tip.

MAn this KILLS me, I cancelled our fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose due to the CM's telling me I couldn't use it. Now I'm Kicking myself, guess I'll call back today and see if by some miracle I can get it back. Does anyone have the number for Mama Melrose so I can call them directly and be sure?

I'm thrilled to see this thread. I keep saying that I don't see how they can NOT accept the plan for FDP - all 3 restaurants are listed and it isn't listed as an exclusion on the brochure or anything. I think people need to go with the assumption that it WILL be covered instead of vice versa. Besides, we all know how reliable the new CMs at CRO have been lately :confused3  :goodvibes

I'm thrilled to see this also, especially since I was able to call back this a.m. and get my Fantasmic for 6/4 for 6:00 back. I cancelled it thinking I couldn't use it, but now that I see people have been able to I'm going to go in thinking that I can. I hope others will post recent encounters with the plan and Fantasmic here before I go to give me more hope.

just a related fyi on the fdp-- we had 620 PS at mama melrose - it took forever, as did most of our sit downs (heck even counter service was slow). we didn't leave mm till 815 and had to hussle all the way over to the theatre for fantasmic.

it seems every meal was really slow- we also had a nearly 2 hour lunch at coral reef! now for a romantic late nite with two adults i don't mind, but with kids in tow.... much too long. anyone else find the dining slow??

I hope that we can use our MYW dining for the Fantasmic next month. If not I am prepared with the money, but it would be a good thing if it gets covered.
We have never been to Mama Melrose and hear good things. :sunny:

we actually had a very good meal ( i had salmon) much better than i remember from our 01 trip
