I'm shortly going to be booking my ADR's for March 08. I want to book the Fantasmic dining package with a meal at the Hollywood and Vine before the show. What sort of time should I request in order that we don't have to rush and that we can still arrive at the show in plenty of time to get seating. I am unsure of the start time of the show so if anyone knows, please tell me....

The Fantasmic times for March 2008 are:

1st, 3rd, 8th - 7pm & 8:30pm
2nd, 4th-7th - 7pm
9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 16th-29th, 31st - 8:30pm & 10pm
11th, 14th, 15th, 30th - 8:30pm

I think you'll find that, at the 180 day mark, the latest time available for the dinner package is 4pm. Some later times might open up nearer the date. Even with the reserved seating, you'll need to show up 45 minutes before the show, especially since they often open up the area to everyone if the rest of the stadium fills. I'd be inclined to go for an ADR time at least 2 1/2 hours before the show. Don't forget that you don't have to go directly from dinner to the show. You could even go for a late lunch and then tour the park.

Thanks, you've been very helpful. I will probably book for 4pm (as we have young children) We can have a leisurely meal and then tour the park for a while before turning up well in advance for the show. Just a couple of other questions - how long does the show go on for?. Also, it will be my birthday on the day in question and I'd like to arrange a cake to be brought to the table. Can I request this at the same time as the ADR or separately nearer the time? and can left overs usually be boxed to take away?

The Disney staff will be able to let you know what are the latest times when you phone. When we booked I the show was early (being Xmas) and we got the latest sitting at 4.30pm. We found them very helpful so you should have no problems.

Information about birthdays, including how to order cakes, can be found here on the DIS main information pages. I think the price quoted may be out of date - I've got a feeling the price is now around $16 plus tax. You'll need to pay when you order.

When you book they tell you what times are available as only certain times are available to dinner packages. Well worth it though.
