Fantasmic package vs not package

We are paying OOP for our upcoming trip vs meal plan like we have done in previous trips. My son is now 10, he doesn’t eat like an adult and it doesn’t make sense to pay adult pricing for him. I was wondering about the Fantasmic dining packages. Are they the same price at Hollywood and Vine as they would be if we ate there without the Fantasmic package? The price seems insanely high, not sure I can justify paying it.
