Fantasmic package or not?

Hi we are going in Aug (free dining) and Fantasmic is offered 3 days while we are there. Should I try to get the Fantasmic dinner package or just wing it? This is our first trip and with 2 dds I don't know if waiting 90 mins to 2 hours is going to work if we don't have the preferred seating. But then I wonder if it rains it might be canceled. Urgh the decisions. What would you do?

We were there last August and decided not to do it at all. Between the heat and the wait we thought are time was better spent. We made sure to catch the fireworks at MK and Epcot where we didn't have to wait for 2 hours. I just hadn't seen a great number of reviews saying "don't miss Fantasmic"

We didn't do the dinner package nor did we got 90 minutes in advance to get seats. We went 20 minutes before it started and we did have to sit to the left and in the back. We still enjoyed the show and the seats weren't bad. This was in April two weeks after Easter.

THanks, just wondering if we should wing it because I think they would rather go to Sci-Fi to eat. Any other opinions?
