Fantasmic Package in Dec. yes or no?

I thought the package would be good to avoid the crowds with my two little ones but now I am wondering if we would be better off with the freedom to go over to the boardwalk and look at the hotels if we get done with the shows before Fantasmic. We have dinner reservations for 5pm at H&V with the Fantasmic show at 7:30 on Monday, Dec. 15th.

What do you guys think? If the crowds aren't that bad then, I'm beginning to think we might prefer our freedom since there is nothing special at H&V to hold the little ones' attention during dinner.

I'm in the same boat. I have 2 DD's ages 4 and 7. I have done the package twice now both times in December (2000 and 2001) because my DDs were young and my DH does NOT like lines.

This year I was going to try no package because they changed the package and now ask for a CC when you make the PS. But then I researched what actually happens when you do not do the package and was told a line still forms outside about 1 1/2 hours before the show starts and then you sit for about a hour on metal bleachers and then I discussed it with my DH and he just doesn't want to have to wait in a line before entering the stadium and wait in the stadium too so I booked the package again.

My DH likes being able to enter the stadium at the last 1/2 via the special entrance and not wait in the regular line.

So that is why we've decided to do it even though it may be off season.

Thanks Beatty family, I think that helps. My DH and DS2 and DD3 1/2 also do not like waiting and they do not like lines. I can think of more exciting places to eat, but the package is probably worth it just to make sure I don't have an irritated family waiting for the show to start.

You are very welcome!

I could be wrong about my info so it will be interesting to see if anyone posts that you really don't need the package with 2 little ones in December! Maybe you can still arrive at the last minute with no package off season but I really don't think so.

Have fun! We're going Dec 1!

I think you can forgoe the dinner package and just arrive at Fantasmic with enough time to get your own seats...besides, after a long day in the parks, I think being able to sit down for a while would be a welcome thing.

Thanks everybody. Anybody else been in mid december that can comment. I would really prefer to wing it, I just don't want to be sorry I cancelled. Now that you have to give 48 hours notice for cancellation it makes things more difficult. Since we arrive two days earlier, I won't have an opportunity to scope it out first.

Have fun Dec. 1 Beattyfamily!!!!! :sunny: :sunny:

We go the first week in December and are doing the same package as you. Now my kids are older, but I feel it is worth it. We did the same package last year and I think you get a little better seats and you do not have to wait in line or on the metal benches. Four years ago we did it without the package and it was hard on the kids sitting there. It was at least an hour. They do have some small show like things going on, but the main idea is to try and sell the kids things. All the light up toys and what not. If you are planning on eating out anyway I feel it is worth doing. That is just my thoughts.
