Fantasmic Package Alternative???

Visitting WDW for the first time next month, and although I have been dutifully planning, I didn't find out about the Fantasmic Pack. until a month ago. Obviously now I'm calling daily to check for cancellations. Yesterday I was going through my itinerary, and noticed that the day we'll be at MGM Studios, Monday 9/22 (MGMs EMH day) there will be a Fantasmic at 8 and 9:30. So I thought there will not be the 90 min. wait, and less of a crowd
since only the people staying at the parks get to enjoy the EMH. Am I naive or is this a good plan?

Last late Sept we did not line up 90mins early for Fantasmic on any night. I would think that if it's showing 2x that night you would be ok with say a 30-45 min head start.

It simplpy was not that crowded last year to warrant 90 mins early.
