I just realized we can't see both shows. Which one would you recommend for little ones?

I saw Fantasmic a few years ago and thought it was great, but my son loves Star Wars.

Is it hard to get a decent view of the Star Wars fireworks?

TIA!

We watched F! and quickly exited and were able to see a good portion of Star Wars-A Galactic Spectacular.

They direct F! Guests to the sidewalk alongside The Hollywood Brown Derby to an area past the Derby to watch or you can just head to the end of Hollywood Boulevard by the Maingate and have a "fairly" good view there.:)

I think Fantasmic! is the better show, but if you have seen it, Star Wars is also very cool, and if you have Star Wars fans in your group then they are probably going to be really into it.

I took my 16 yr old daughter to Fanasmic in April. SHe had seen it a few times when she was small. She had a difficult time understanding what was going on. She was not impressed. That being said , she will probably go to Fanastimic when we go in April because she hates Star Wars

If the show times are 9:00pm for F! and 9:30pm for Star Wars, you can do both. As soon as F! ends, quickly make your way out. They even have CMs directing people specifically who want to go see Star Wars fireworks. If you're worried about missing the first few minutes, leave F! as soon as the finale starts (the boat with all the characters on it). You'll make it in plenty of time. And yes, you can still get a good spot for Star Wars even that late.

Newbie here so sorry if it's a dumb question I made fantasmic dining reservations. Park hours that day are 9-8 so what time does fantasmic start?

Well, I can't be sure with knowing the actual date, but it is likely 7:30 with SW at 8 PM. Fantasmic! can sometimes start AFTER park close though.

Thanks Brian I don't mind if it starts after closing 8 is pretty early for us anyways with my little night owl. I swear she lasts longer than me most nights and still manages to get up early!

I was the same until my early 30's though so not a shock! My husband however is a hot mess after 10pm LoL

Just took a peak at the age of your kiddos. If your son is 5 and loves Star Wars I would recommend that one. When my dd was 2 there was a good portion of F! that frightened her and we didn't go back for a couple of years.

If either of your children are timid SW might be the better choice for you.

Well, depending on when you are going, the park hours may be extended to later. October hours are hardly final yet, so keep an eye on the official hours. Fantasmic! is unlikely to move though.

Well my original plan was

11/28 HS 9-8
11/29 Epcot 9-9:30
11/30 MK 9-4:30

Which is why I'm switching HS and MK as 4:30 is way to early, Epcot has extended hours on 11/28 but that's also the day of the MMVMCP so that's a bust LoL *figures my luck*

Well, you have time. You may be able to switch your dining too. Just keep checking for alternatives. Honestly, as good as the parties are, you wouldn't be seeing Happily Ever After, but instead the Christmas fireworks show. HEA is the newest show and is supposed to be very impressive (I haven't seen it yet). Party fireworks are great too, but I'd choose HEA. You do get an extra parade out of the deal though since MK no longer has a regular night time parade, but the Parties do!

Even though we're getting in later in the day Monday I was considering adding a day to the ticket and also going into MK that same day even if just for a few hours.

Adding the additional day isn't that much off I think $100-$120 for all of us. Might be worth it than I would get to see both shows!

I had a question about GS. Are they going to stop running it in the winter (December 2017) before the Last Jedi release? Or are the times just not released yet? We are going for our first time in early December and really wanted to see them!

I am unsure of the scheduling, but the holiday show, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam! is returning and it may interfere with certain nights for Star Wars. Last year, it ended up to be an unpopular decision to replace SWAGS with Jingle Bell, so they started doing both each night. I do not know what the scheduling for this year will be like, but SWAGS is pretty much a "permanent" show at this point in time.
