Fantasmic Lunch and... Captain's Grille dinner?

If we have a Fantasmic package for lunch and Fantasmic is at 7, what's a reasonable time to book Captain's Grille for a late dinner? Will we make it to an 8:35. Fantasmic is 30 minutes, so on a crowd "5" day is an hour enough to get out and on a boat across to Yacht Club? I'm starting to think these two are incompatible for the same day. I can swap it to a different night but it knocks out another meal I was looking forward to.

1) You can make it only if you are seated in the rear and near the exit.
2) The Fantasmic! seating package may not be beneficial for this.
. . . the reserved section is in the center of the seating
. . .most of the seats are closer to the front
3) Things to consider
. . . the crowd moves pretty slowly in getting out, as it is tough to get up to 6,500 people out quickly
. . . the walk to the park exit and boats is slow going and shoulder-to-shoulder
. . . with so many leaving after the show, the boat dock is pretty busy with a long queue
. . . my guess is 65-75 minutes to BC/YC, at a minimum

As the others have said, the timing will be a bit tight. You might be able to shave a few minutes off the time by walking to YC instead of taking a boat, depending on how long the queue is and the position of the boats (i.e. if there is one loading up at that time, if there are any boats waiting, if there is there one coming, etc.). The walk should take about 25 minutes or so.

Yeah. I thought about it and I'm going to move it to our non-fantasmic HS day, shift the other desired restaurant (Boatwright's) to the AK day that we were going to do RFC and drop RFC because we can do that at home. We can do it in DTD Anaheim and we can do it in San Francisco and while we enjoy it, it's not *that* special and we're already doing T-Rex...

Thank you for reinforcing that. We need to take the boat instead of walking because my teen has asked for about four things for the entire trip and one is boat rides. It's apparently A Thing. I don't know why. We're supposed to take boats whenever possible.

So now the question becomes what to do about dinner. Dinner pre-Fantasmic is too soon. Dinner post-Fantasmic is awkward. Feh. Thank goodness we're going when it's easy to redo ADRs!

If don't mind waiting for a boat after Fantasmic, you can take a boat over to the Boardwalk and have dinner at the Big River Grille or ESPN Club. Both are first come first serve (no reservations) so while you might have to wait for a table, you won't have to worry about getting there at a specific time. Plus you get points for adding an extra boat ride for your teen. Plus it gives you a chance to enjoy the Boardwalk (entertainers and funnel cake and the bakery (have funnel cake for dessert and bring things from the bakery back to your resort for the next day), who could ask for more?). Then either take a bus to Disney Springs and back to your home resort or take a taxi directly back.

Ooh... Big River does look good. None of the HS QS is especially attractive, so maybe we'll play it by ear, see how hungry v. tired we are at 6 and decide if we're eating before or after then. QS at HS just... none of it is leaping out at me.

It sounds like you won't be able to make it because of when the restaurant closes, but I once was an hour and a half late to an ADR (what a morning that was), and we still got in and I was not charged a no-show fee.
