If we are going to an 8:30 Fantasmic show on a night that HS closes at 9:30, will we have time to grab a ride after the show? What time will the show end?

2- will we have time to grab a ride after the show?

3- What time will the show end?

1- Just under 30 minutes. Plus another 10-20 minutes to exit the theater back down to
Sunset Blvd.

2- Yes. (Depending on which attraction.) All you need to do is be IN THE LINE before the park's posted closing time.

3- 8:58PM-ish

You *MIGHT* have a chance to grab one more ride, but the problem is the sheer number of people that are in the Fantasmic theater with you all leaving at the same time, a lot of them with the same idea. Basically you can forget ToT or RnR (unless you take a seat all the way at the back right side of the theater and can get out *QUICK* and haul butt over there), because those are the ones people will head right for.

I guess my thought was that most people head for the exits & buses after the show - so I was thinking a ride would be a good idea so that we aren't leaving the park with the swarm. Maybe not?

Sounds like a good idea to me. :thumbsup2

You'll find a lot of guests doing either of those after the show.

Seriously doubt it, the stars would have to be aligned! As previous posters stated, other guests will be either trying the same, or trying to exit. However, there will be guests that did not attend Fantasmic, that will be trying to pack in their lasts rides of the night. So, it would not be a walk on for you, there will be lines.
:confused3

I disagree. I think those would be the best options since they're the closest to the Fantasmic theater.

Again, I disagree. Like Robo said, as long as you're in line before closing, you'll be allowed to ride:

2- Yes. (Depending on which attraction.) All you need to do is be IN THE LINE before the park's posted closing time.

And the OP didn't say anything about wanting to avoid lines for the rides; they were just hoping to avoid the mass of people leaving the park right when Fantasmic ends.

I would definitely think you could get in another ride!! You can get in line up to 9.29pm so you will definitely get to either ToT or RnR before then!! :)

fantasmic is a great show! we were at DHS for a very late dinner reservation, but the staff ensured that we had transportation back to our resort. we had our own private bus, and personal escort to it. it was great seeing the park after closing time! it turns into a whole different world at that time

I think it's a good idea. As others have said you just need to be in line before 9:30. Sometimes when the park closes at 9:30 there's another showing of Fantasmic! at 10:00, but if it works out right, you'll be done with your ride before that showing of F! finishes. :)
