Somewhere I remember someone mentioning that there is a secret to a good spot to watch Fantasmic. If I recall there is a light tower that rises just before the show??? Help....

Yes, this is true, we stood there last time we went. It is right behind lighting tower B which is the center tower and the biggest. It rises up about three minutes before the show.

I'm with tink. I've never been able to figure out the tower thing...I need pictures. Though then that lowers the SECRET aspect of it, doesn't it?

I didn't get it either, Molly, until the last time I went to DLR and actually SAW the tower and it was lowered and people were standing behind it.. I was like "OHHHHHHHHH!"

I had read about it on the boards but when I went last week I looked for the three pillars or towers or whatever and could not for the life of me figure out what the poster was talking about so we planted our behinds on the bridge by POC. THEN, when Fantasmic began, it all became clear to me.... there are three columns or scaffolding looking things with lights on them...not solid pillars or columns per se. There is one closer to the HM and then one by POC and the third I never even saw until the show began and it was nearer to BTMR (kind of). Before the show starts, they are on the ground and obstruct ones' view, however, when the show starts, the lighting/scaffolding rises up and then there is supposedly nothing blocking your view. From where I was, it still seemed like the bottom of the structure would at least be partially in ones' view but I wasn't exactly in that spot so I couldn't tell you. Maybe someone who has actually staked out that spot could help you! I do remember seeing a gazillion people around the "tower" so it can't be all that top secret - there were people in every nook and cranny of the viewing area but it seemed like any spot would be decent. I liked being on the bridge because there was no one in front of us. Just parked strollers beneath us. That, and it was right smack dab in the middle of the action. Good luck finding the best spot for you and yours!

oh it like looking at different concretes to find parade rope holes, one of those things I'm too busy to find.

I just seem to luck into good places not fulled by the masses.
