First of all (and most importantly), we leave for WDW in 3 days!! :yay:

My DD7 has global developmental delay and is in a wheelchair. We have used a GAC the past two years and the cast members have been so wonderful to her (and us). Seeing how nice everyone is and the smiles it brings to her face is really what keeps us going back.

This year, we are going to DHS for the first time. I really want to take the kids to Fantasmic. I've heard that you have to get there about an hour early to get in line for seats. I'm assuming they have a separate handicap entrance, but how early should we get there for that?

Thanks.

I don't think there is a seperate entrance, because there aren't any stairs or anything. (We did the dinner package, so that was a different entrance anyway, but both entrances were just straight-in)

Once you get in there, the disabled seating is the back two rows, the very back row has short benches with empty spots for chairs, and the row in front of that is marked disabled but is regular bench.

I'm sure this varies depending on the season, but there were plenty of places to sit in the disabled rows... we wouldn't have needed to get there really early... the fight seems to be over the front-and-center seats. You might check with someone the day you go, you might not really need to get there very early.

You could also go early, camp out in your seats, and send someone in your party to fetch drinks and stuff. There is plenty to buy, and a restroom and smoking area, all right there outside the gate, and they will let people go in and out. We did several times waiting for the show to start, I went and bought drinks, came back and DH went for a smoke, came back and took one kid to the bathroom, etc etc, no problem.

Just a suggestion for you... we sat in disabled with Justin's GAC so we could get him out of there easily if he started to freak out. When the show was getting ready to start, there were plenty of spots in the disabled rows. But once the show starts, people come in late and they'll take the first available seat, which is often that disabled row. You're a little better off if you split up your party, maybe you and your daughter in the back row with the wheelchair spots, and the rest of the party in the row directly in front of you. That way there won't be people coming in halfway thru the show walking right in front of you to find a seat. And while an aisle seat might seem like a good idea, some people will start to leave before the show is over, and they'll block your view too.

FYI, the seating for Lights Motors Action is similar. You go in thru the regular line, then when you get to the back of the stadium you take the elevator up. From there you can wheel in to the disabled seating. Also the short benches with empty spaces, and the row directly in front of it is marked disabled too.
