fantasmic h&v pkg. and too early dining times

I've heard on this board before that there is a stratedgy to getting a later dining time for the fantasmic dining pkg. Right now we have a 4:40pm dining time at H&V on Tues.Aug 2.
I wasn't sure if the stratedgy was to call back for a later time the day they announced Aug schedules, because they then know if there will be later times OR if there was a set day in numbers (ie: 30 days prior to ressie) to call back.
One more ?.......if there are two fantasmic shows that night, does your dinner time have to correlate with a certain show or can you go to either, no matter what time your ressie is for?.....thanks, Sue

For May the call back time ws around 21days. I was able to cjange my PS from 4:30 to 6:00 3 weeks before my May 20th date.

Do you know if there is any correlation if they open later times for dinner if you can still go to the early show. We ahve res at 4:20 at H&V and hoping it will open up later for June 12.(My kids are later eaters). But I still want to go to the 9pm show since would be too late for them later. Also the parade is at 5:30 they want to see.

I don't know exactly when they open up later times but it does seem to be about 30 days out.

Last year, I originally had a reservation for 4:30 and called about 2 weeks out and got a 6:20 time. I would call back about a month ahead and keep trying if they don't have anything new open yet.

When I made our FDP PS at H & V....the CM told me the only show we could attend was the 9pm of Fantasmic...which is fine because then we still have time to play during EMH that night at MGM.

There was a thread on the restaurant forum about this and they said it is less than 30 days but they couldn't pin down an exact number of days. So start calling about 28 days before and see what happens. Some people were saying 23 days, etc.

I never thought about calling back so we didn't do the package last time because the times they were offering were so early. Even for a 7 PM show I didn't want to eat dinner at 4:30!

I tried changing my H&V Fantasmic reservation for 5/31 at 5pm to a later time up until 14 days out, and was constantly told that they would not have any times after 5pm for the package, so I cancelled it. (We are staying at BWV and getting our grocery delivery from wegoshop.com around 4:30, so 5pm would not work.) Guess we'll take our chances on walking in on a Fantasmic show this trip...
