I will be going to WDW in May and wanted to take advantage of the Fantasmic Dining Package with my DDP. We will be travelling with four adults and two kids (ages 6 and 3). Which restaurant would you recommend?

Personally, we always go to Mama Melrose. We did H&V twice--both resulted with horrible service, mediocre food (when there was food in the bin) and filthy conditions. Mama Melrose is not gourmet, but we have always had great service and good food.
I ate at Mama Melrose last week for the Fantasmic package. I had the artisian breads and spreads. They were ok, but I think I was still too full from lunch at Sci-Fi to really enjoy them, LOL> I had the four cheese pizza and was too full to eat a bite at dinner. The very nice server (Holly, she was awesome) boxed it up for me. I ate it cold at about 9pm that night and it was really excellent, IMO. I can't imagine how good it would have been fresh out of the oven! I skipped dessert, but I bet that was good too!
I wouldn't hesitate to do MM again
(I did H&V for breakfast one day last week and enjoyed it as well, but can't comment on dinner there)
I had heard alot of bad reviews for H&V before I made our reservation but I did anyway. We really enjoyed it. We thought the food was really appetizing and the resturant was really neat.
I ate at mama melrose 2 weeks ago for the 1st time and I'd definitely go back. We enjoyed the food and our server was excellent. She was really sweet to my boys.
We did H & V in May 2008 and Mama Melrose in September 2008, both on the Fantasmic package. We liked both, but probably preferred Mama Melrose -- the buffet was good, place was clean, food replaced frequently, good variety but H & V was very hectic & loud (typical Dis buffet that way!) For our party (2 adults) we liked the laid-back neighborhood Italian place feel of Mama Melrose's.
