Our dream of seeing Fantasmic from the dessert seating is disintegrating due to the high cost. A friend said they happened to eat dinner at Cafe Orleans right before Fantasmic one time and had great seats. Has anyone tried this? I'm thinking of booking a reservation for a late dinner one night.

We haven't done this personally, but we asked our server about this possibility the last time we ate dinner there. She said that if you are already there for dinner, you can stay and watch, but the view can be a bit obstructed. They have to clear all the dishes and glassware before the show starts (I guess it's a safety issue since it's pretty dark during F!), so if you still have drinks to finish, they will put them in disposable cups for you. Others can chime in about the view, but I thought it was an interesting option.

I have seen the show several times in the last few years. Everyone stands along the walk way in front of Cafe Orleans so I would imagine it would not be a good view at all. I may be wrong but if I had to guess I would say you would be better off standing and watching it.

While it looks like a good idea, as noted above it has a mostly obstructed view.

Consider the River Belle Terrace. While it has some trees to avoid, it has lots of good seats and it is raised a couple feet above the walkway so you don't see the people on the walkway as much.

We did it. And would do it again!

We had dinner there and timed it to be done just before F!. After we were done eating, they let us move to the "best seats in the house"...actually our server suggested that we move to get a better view. My DD4 (at the time) sat on my BIL's shoulders , but we had a decent view. As none of us wanted to stake out seats beforehand, this was a good compromise for us. Dinner and a decent view. We'd do it again.

That being said, if my vision impaired DH were with me, he wouldn't have been able to make much of it out since it is a long way away. We'd probably opt for the dessert package if he were with us.

YMMV on views from the patio at Cafe Orleans.

Thank you to everybody for the suggestions and tips! :worship: I'll re-read thru the Fantasmic thread now that our plans have changed since I first read it. My daughter and I are both on the short side so I'm wondering if Cafe Orleans would be a tricky spot. Hadn't even thought of Riverbelle! The thought of finding a spot among the masses makes me about break out in hives for some reason! Past experience I suppose! ;)

We've been at CO for a late dinner and were able to stay and watch F!, and unfortunately like PPs have stated it was a very obstructed view, and there were others there trying to do the same thing, which made it hard to move to one of the tables closer to the water.

If it is your first time seeing F!, then I would suggest trying to find better seats. We usually watch the show at least 2-3 times on our trips and have see it many, many times, so I didn't mind the view being a little obstructed that one time. But I were you, I would make good use of the tips in the F! Superthread and try finding a seat closer to the water. I would suggest trying for the later show. Hang out by Splash or Pooh as the first show is ending, and then swoop right in after the show's over and grab seats for the second show with a minimal wait. We ALWAYS get great seats doing this and don't have to sit there for hours guarding our seats. :thumbsup2
