Just want to double check. Where do you get the fp? We should get one first thing on a Saturday morning in July, correct?

Thank you!

F! FP are distributed along the Big Thunder Trail; the path leading from Big Thunder to the Ranch. Correct, the F! FP is disconnected (not linked) to the rest of the DL FP system. In terms of timing, I think it really depends on which show you want to see. They start by distributing the FPs for the first show (yellow section, then green section, then blue section) and then when those run out, they begin distributing FPs for the second show. So if you go first thing in the morning, you'll get a FP for the first show of the evening.

FYI - You are not allowed to get FPs for both shows (F!, WOC) in the same night, however, most CMs will allow you to exchange a FP for one show with the other. You can also most likely find other people at the FP machines who are looking to exchange. We did this for WOC last week.

Thank you! Will they be open during MM or do we need to go back and get them once regular park hours open? Also--I heard yellow is one of the best spots?

I don't believe any FPs (including F! and WOC) can be obtained during MM. As far as the color, I wouldn't worry too much about which one you get as they all have good spots. No matter which color you get, you will need to arrive early to get the prime spots. Otherwise, you will end up with a spot, but it may not be prime where you will have an unobstructed view of everything. Beware that if you have an up-front yellow spot you may get wet from the mist if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction.

They do not start distributing FPs until the park opens to everyone (i.e., no FPs during Magic Morning). In this case, the FP distribution location is over by Big Thunder in Frontierland, which is inaccessible during MM/EMH (MM/EMH in DL only includes Main Street, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland).

In terms of the viewing areas, there are amazing viewing locations in all of the areas, but the general senses is that there are more areas within the yellow that are ideal. Still, you will have to get there early if you want to be in one of the prime viewing areas (e.g., along the river edge) regardless of which color FP you get.

With the change of new viewing areas a few months ago I'd say more of Blue has a better view than more of yellow as yellow stretches all the way to the Mark Twain dock. Either way, you'll want to arrive BEFORE the return time for optimal locations within whichever area you get...people even start queuing an hour or more before. They used to disperse people until 15 minutes or so before but don't seem to be anymore and are even opening up holding areas (ie inside the dock) until the sections actually open
