Fantasmic! & Fireworks on same day ?

After reading all these, I think we're going to aim for the fireworks and see how the kids are for the later Fantasmic show. DD is more excited about Fireworks at this point!

I strongly suggest Fireworks then late F! show. It is so much easier and you can get excellent viewing for both
This.

We watched the early F! once then stayed by RoA and watched the fireworks. It's definitely not as good as being in the Hub. Im not sure you can make it back to the Hub to get a good spot because there's only a few minutes I think between the end of F! and the start of the fireworks.
Or this.

Trying to watch the fireworks from the hub after seeing the first Fantasmic would not be a good idea. 1. You'll miss most of the fireworks, and 2. it's not fair to the guests at the hub when last-minute stragglers try to squeeze in.

HTH :wizard:

Based on everybody's recommendation , we will first watch the Fireworks from the hub followed by the second Fantasmic show at 10:30 pm.
Can one of us ( either me or DH ) save our spot for Fantasmic while other can take DS around on rides ( provided there are toddler rides near RoA AND they are still open at 10 pm ) ? Or do all 3 of us have to wait the entire time ?

Thank you everyone for posting :)

What I was trying to find out is whether we have to get the snack/dessert box for a toddler or is it ok to get the boxes just for the adults ?
Do you need it, No. It is a luxury. I have found good viewing just heading over after the fireworks. The premium viewing is chairs. Once you pick you seats they are reversed.
Your 3 y.o. would also need a ticket. You are paying for the reserved seat as well as for the dessert box. It's $49 for ages 3-10. Only kids under age 2 are free. :)

I would say you'd all need to wait in your spot for F!.

We've only done F! once...last month, after watching the fireworks. We were a group of 10, my MIL was in a wheelchair, and we had my 4 kids plus 2 nieces with us. Kids ages are 18, 12, 9, 9, 8, and 5. We got a great spot for F!...in the center, in the roped off area (in the back of the roped off area because of MIL's wheelchair). We sat down with the kids.

And then, after we'd already been holding our spot for well over half an hour, this one hispanic woman and her 2 little kids walked in and basically sat on us! GRRRR! She acted like she knew no english at all (we encountered that scenario a lot during this last trip). And even though we all scooted and huddled so there would be room for them (because seriously, there was NOT room for them when they walked in - but that woman was just either going to sit on our feet, or we were going to have to move, but she was NOT going to *not* sit there. So, half of us grabbed some of the little ones in our group and put them on our laps - it was move, or get squashed). It was SO extremely annoying. I would have left except that it was my MIL's only chance to see F! (she's ill and won't get to go back to DL again).

I seriously wanted to kick that woman, lol. Of course, I didn't. And it's like every few minutes, she and her kids would spread out even MORE, and we'd have to scrunch together even more, and by the time the show started, we were basically under the feet of the people standing behind us (and then there was a stroller rolling over our fingers, etc.....pretty miserable). And to top it all off, the rude woman opened up her cell phone as soon as the show began, stuck it up in the air, to record!!! She made it very difficult for the little ones in our group to see anything.

So, I would stake out your spot and mark your perimeter, LOL!!! And if rude people start trying to sit on you, yell at them! :rotfl:

Ive done DEP, RDCT and Fantasmic on the same night... I also was able to do
Magical, 10:30 Fantasmic and the last showing of WOC.... You do need to move pretty fast though...

Hey we are going to try this tonite. Can you tell me how much time you had to spare when you got to WoC? Did you run or walk? And was there a line at the DCA gate?

You know? If you clone your self then you can see fireworks and F ! in the same night!!

We saw the fireworks, then Fantasmic in the same night. We did leave the fireworks to start walking over to Fantasmic about 1 min. before they were over. My mom skipped the fireworks to save us a spot for Fantasmic. It is kind of hard to save spots because people are very pushy and even if you tell them you have family coming, they sit there anyway (we had about 10 people try to sit in the spot we were saving and 3 of them sat there anyway) so we just were extra squished.
