Going in July - i've been back and forth on this... :confused3 50s Prime Time for dinner then the 10:30 Fantasmic! show or Mama Melrose FDP (which i have an ADR for now) at 5:20 with the earlier Fantasmic! at 9:00? Next day i have ADR at CMC at 10:15 am.

You don't need to do a package to get good seats at the show. We did the package once only to discover they herd you to the far right of the coliseum which isn't the best view:confused3 And with the chance of inclement weather in July (which happens frequently), you are never guaranteed the show even if you purchase the package. My advice, make a dining ressie where you want to and pick the later show (find the EMH night and go then). The early show is going to contain the "families with smaller children" component--more strollers and such, whereas the later show is for us late parksters. One more hint, don't be intimidated by a long line. We've seen it snake all the way to the corner of Sunset BLVd by the attraction posting board. It's a huge arena and will take everyone although there is a large standing only area. Oh, another tip:idea: once in the arena, you will notice individuals taking up 2-3 spaces by putting down bags, cameras, etc. Go ahead and nicely ask if you can have a seat there. We've never been turned down yet and as long as you're polite, it all works out:love:

I think it depends on the ages of your kids.

My youngest just turned 5. I think I'll opt for the earlier show on an EMH night. That way, if she's had enough, we can call it quits. Otherwise, we can stay until we feel like leaving.
